Here is a better veiw of my Caboose and Reefer cars. The Caboose was a gift from a friend and the Reefer I picked up a local Hobby shop before it went under. WHICH MAJORLY SUCKS because it is the ONLY HOBBY SHOP that sold Model trains. *anoid, flicks tail*
Anyway, the models are in HO Scale, the Caboose is a Bachmann product and a decent one at that. Though this model is a bit old and had crappy plastic wheels. I'd preefer all metal wheels but all the ones I had fit too loosely. So I added new plastic wheels but with metal axels. It rolls FAR better now, but I'm still looking for some better ALL metal wheels.
Also, since the time of the Photo, I've removed the "B&O" lettering from the side. I'm not too fond of the Yellow hand rails and I may repaint them along with the whole Caboose. I'd like to ad interior detail but I also want to add working Marker Lamps to the end. Most kits are battery powered and if there was an interior there'd be no room for the battery.
The Caboose will be painted in a slightly deeper shade of red and will be Re-Lettered for the "Empire River & Western" Railroad. (Its a fictional RR, don't waste time looking it up!) Also for a final touch add Kadee magnetic couplers to fro better operation and realism.
Now onto the Reefer (Refrigerator Car) I don't plan on doing alot of changes to the Reefer. Mainly all I want to do is ad more period apropriate "Arch BAr" trucks (the wheel frames that support the car) and add a bit of weathering to get rid of that "Plastic" look.
WOW! I wrote alot here! Hope I didn't bore you all to much. Hope ya' Guys Like! PLASE LEAVE COMMENTS!!!
Oh! And yes that's my Rogers 1890 in the background! *smiles*
