Trying out that new Overdrive guitar effects pedal seemed like a good idea at the time. Apparently, however, it produced so much Gain and raw power that the sound alone transmitted through an amplifier opened an interdimensional rift that sucked the unsuspecting reptile in and hurled him across time and space, along with his guitar and rig.
When Killian and his gear finally reached the other side, he found himself surrounded by the denizens of that dimension, who were just like those from Killian's dimension (anthropomorphic species), except they had no concept of heavy metal. They did not understand that metal was a form of music, and were appalled at the lingo Killian used so casually. When given the chance to explain and defend himself, Killian was quite confident that once these poor, neglected people heard his mix tape and they experienced the beauty of metal, that they would no longer act so hostile and threatened. He couldn't have been more wrong.
As soon as the loud, aggressive music began to blare through the speakers of the outdoor court room, the people of this foreign dimension went wide-eyed with terror and quickly became outraged, which led to Killian being surrounded once again. The crowd carried the lizard and all of his gear towards a large, menacing fortress that was black with neon red lighting and features. This glowing red substance that flowed throughout the building seemed to be a power source of some sort.
Once inside, the mob's leader spoke with the warden and explained his take on the whole situation. It seems that the people of this dimension believed that Killian was actually a demon. Moments later, the warden nodded and instructed several guards to confiscate Killian's gear and put it in lock up. Another group of guards took custody of the reptile, searching him and slamming him face down to the cold, hard floor. With a great deal of struggling from Killian, the guards eventually managed to force the rebellious lizard into a straitjacket before chucking him into a high-tech security cell.
Despite his pleading and protests, Killian was now stuck inside a rather tightly-secured prison cell. After several hours of making futile attempts to try and convince his captors that they've made some sort of mistake and that he's not a demon at all, the lizard gave up and rested his head against the thick, transparent door to his cell. Killian closed his eyes for just a moment, before opening his eyes and catching a glimpse of something on the wall next to his cell door. It appeared to be the locking mechanism that controlled his cell door. The device was equipped with a pin pad, an intercom, a key slot, and a few other features and details that Killian couldn't quite determine the purpose of. But there was something strangely familar about this electronic cell door lock mechanism... So familiar that it sent chills down his spine... He had seen similar technology before, but he couldn't quite remember where.
The reptile quickly returned to a sense of urgency as a loud siren began to blare throughout the compound, followed by a woman's voice echoing over the PA system.
"Demonic presence at unsafe levels. Lockdown in effect." (Bonus cool points to anyone who gets the reference.)
Killian's face went pale as he suddenly remembered why the locking mechanism on his cell door seemed so familiar. Its construction was very similar in design to that new keytar his bandmate Baph recently acquired not too long ago, seemingly out of thin air. He quickly glanced back at the device to examine a round area that was glowing red. Inscribed upon it was a smaller version of the same pentagram motif present on Baph's new synth. Just then, a large green fluid began to flow down the outside of Killian's cell door as he heard a great, terrifying roar like none he had ever heard in his lifetime. "Thaaat's not a good sign," the reptile stated plainly, his eyes wide with fear as his breath began to condense with a sudden drop in air temperature.

I had a lot of fun drawing this piece! I think I'm really starting to get comfortable with Killian's design, anatomy, and expressions. I also really enjoyed drawing the background. For whatever reason, I actually decided to ink this one too, and I must say, I'm rather impressed with how it turned out! Designing the straitjacket was fun as well. I was so proud of how this piece turned out that I even decided to mark it with a proper date and signature! Inspiration for this had many sources, including a recent panic attack. Don't worry! I'm fine now, but I have to point out that it definitely sparked the whole concept. Other sources of inspiration include Hexenkraft, Gothminister, Anthrax, Quiet Riot, Ratt, Alice Cooper, Portal, and Running Man.
I'd like to thank my friend from Deviant Art, Sean5-0, for contributing tremendously to the story behind this drawing.

I'm currently working on character development as I'll be introducing more characters into the story soon. So the story is temporarily on hold. I apologize for making you wait, but I promise, it will be a much more enjoyable story if I ensure that it has well developed, quality characters. :) I'm sure you understand.
