Hey! Silly kids...
There have been many times that I happened to wear clothes that looked similar to what the employees of stores I frequent wear, because I didn't think about that particular detail when rushing to get to the store, and was asked if I worked there, and had to reply "honestly, no". So I have been disturbed by this sort of thing for NOT actually being an employee. So don't tell people they are stupid if they don't ask, because then they will not ask me and I will fail miserably to do what they need and then they will give up on what they are doing in the store, thinking that the employees there are stupid. That would not be good, so please, do ask.

See, I don't know how this happens a lot for me, but I work at Target where we wear Red shirt and Brown/Khaki pants. For lunch, many of us go to a store called Martin's, where they wear Green shirt/ Black pants. It's actually common now for people in Martin's to ask me stuff about where things in Martin's are as if I look like I work there XD
I remember wearing a shirt that looked just like an employee shirt. I stopped to grab a something quick from the grocery store and a woman said "excuse me sir can you tell me-" when she saw I had no name tag she went "I'm so sorry! I thought you worked here!"
So it's not *quite* as dumb a question as people think. I would rather have the polite manner of being asked.

So I work in a deli inside a grocery store, we have some cold stuff like salads and stuff like that and deli meats...I have customers ask me "do you have taco pasta salad?" when they don't see the taco pasta in the display case...If you don't see it, no we don't have it. -.- It's not like I'm hiding all of the "good stuff" from you and only selling it to other people. What we have out is what we are selling on that day. We may have it in the back but we won't have a place to put it if we open it and sell some to you, so I tell them no we don't and come back another day.
Also, people asking "whats the difference between smoked turkey and oven roasted turkey?" I don't know...one's smoked and the other is oven roasted? I mean, c'mon...the name gives it away.

Having worked retail, I'm impressed with how nice he was. He asked politely. He didn't assume she worked there, bark orders at her to fetch him something, or snap his fingers to get her attention.
Though maybe he's confused because her apron says "Candy" when she's in the "Cold Drinks" section.
hyuk, hyuk.
