Zed couldn’t remember how long had it been since he had stepped into the beach. Feeling the warmth of the sand on his scaly feet felt so alien, yet pleasant. How glad it made him that he took on his latest photograph gig - a beach calendar. 12 photos. Nothing fancy, but gave him an excuse to visit the shore. With camera in hand, he look through the lenses in search of interesting sights. Little did he expect to see a familiar face sunbathing in the nude on top of the nearby rocks.
As he walked closed to her, the naturist dolphin sat up and noticed his reptile friend approaching her, making her smile. Miranda excitedly greeted Zed, who just as gleefully greeted back. Forgetting his job for a moment, he sat next to her and engaged in a brief chat, catching up to the how-you-beens and what-you-been-up-tos. Inevitably, Miranda ended up asking what had brought Zed to the beach today. A photography job for a calendar, he simply answered. Always so blunt, Miranda found the job description incredibly boring, jokingly suggesting something more exciting - a nudes calendar, perhaps.
Zed chuckled at the playful suggestion, even more so when she nominated herself as his model. Miranda was one gorgeous Dolphin, Zed had to admit, and though he knew how intrigued she was with his photography - and how she often enjoyed to be the subject of it - he was afraid he only had so much space for photographies. Miranda then thought of something else, an idea she had in mind for a while. A challenge of sorts - a photograph of her jumping out of the water, with Zed in it as well. Zed couldn’t help but find the idea entertaining. Well, she hadn’t seen his friend for a while, so why not?
After a few minutes of planning, he set-up the camera on its tripod and set the timer. Miranda waited underwater as Zed got into his pose. Three, two one…and just then, the dolphin jumped out dramatically as the camera snapped. Moments later, Zed looked in amazement at how perfect it was for a single-shot. An image so clear and full of energy. He found it amusing how Miranda had posed in a way so her body privates were obscured. An intentional act, she admitted, so she could show the picture around. Zed thanked her for the idea and hoped they could talk more after he was done taking his photos.
He only got a small glimpse of the battery indicator flashing red, before the camera’s screen blacked out.
