As May readied herself for her next Pokemon Contest, she couldn't help but marvel at the exotic dress she'd purchased for the occasion. From what the merchant had told her, it hailed from a faraway region where both humans and Pokemon practiced martial arts together. After changing into the dress, May assumed a martial art stance before the mirror and threw a none-too-impressive kick. "Guess martial arts aren't my thing," she said to herself. Her thoughts quickly turned to her Blaziken, May knowing that the impressive Pokemon was more than capable of pulling off all types of kicks and crazy attacks with little effort. He could most certainly put on quite the performance, but alas, Blaziken preferred actual combat to performances. And while loyal to his owner in most regards, the Pokemon had proven quite adamant about avoiding contests since evolving. The girl sighed as she thought about the caring yet stubborn Pokemon, wondering how she could convince him to perform with her. "I could always give him some of his favorite Poke Blocks," she said aloud. "Or maybe if I was a Blaziken I could do the routine myself."
