Prophet: Kylar had no choice, he did what he had to do.
Psycho: Did what he had to do? Just lying to save face? Who does that sound like Kylar? What identity do you have these days. Kylar? Do you even know who you are anymore?
Sorry if you don't get the reference, just parts of their conversation reminded me of a different convo from a game. :P

I just can not understand why Joel is so mad. Kylar was in a situation where he either plays along with their hate or they kill him. What does Joel expect him to do? Get killed as a martyr and hope that somehow changes things? Joel seems like a smart enough person to be able to figure all of this out on his own. I also can't comprehend the creative decision to put historical bigotry into a fantasy comic, but I'm confident that Skidd knows what he's doing.
Joel is mad because Ky's "taging along" with all the hatred and gets kind of carried away with his role of being a hero.
He's showing a pretty much two-faced personality, which is bad.
Joel lives as he may, hiding his true orientation, but sticking to his true feelings as it seems, while Kylar is trying to play a "good guy" for everyone or "keep all eggs in one basket", one way or another an egg is bond to fall off if he's not careful. And Ky basicaly digs his own grave, building lies on lies. He basicaly turned his back on an old, good friend of his, one second telling everyone what a goodman and friend he is, but when people tell him his friend was hung up for being gay, Ky instantly turns around to say that he "knew there was something fishy" about his former friend.
Now you see why Joel is pissed? Itturns out that his lovet would turn his back on anyone, just to save his own reputation and ass.

Some may argue about it, but one can't just "quit being gay/straight/anything-else", unless they've been born that way. If some guy doesn't find other guys attractive in any way possible, he can't just quit being straight eighter. No matter how much some guys fear it irl, this can't happen, unless they have it in them from birth.
Just seeing how Kylar reacts to the girls that came to praise him, he seems not really interested in them in any way.

Shouldn't follow in Panel 3 Balloon 1 be fellow?
As for the page itself, I must say that this is quite the turning point here for Kylar and Joel. I don't know if Joel is more upset with the fact that Kylar supposedly slept with another guy or if he feels like Kylar would simply throw him under the bus like that guy. And I know Kylar was simply acting, but why did he have to go to that extreme, especially in front of Joel?
