Now you see, this is why I love your art Hedgey! When you go the extra mile and put in the more detailed backgrounds and the shading it looks, and I mean honestly looks, like it should be out of a classic cartoon adventure! I love your choice of Wardrobe for Colby in this with the hood and the little sack shoes. It just gives this the feeling of some great epic with a little orphan Hedgehog setting out into the woods. That in combination with the hear, the background, and the snow I can't help but think of Skyrim so I think you really hit the mark with the fantasy vibe on this one! I also love the little bit of snow in Colby's hair and how it's blowing back which supports the feeling that this is a rather perilous scene unfurling before us. Your work with the bear too is absolutely top notch! I think that's the most realistic thing I've ever seen you draw and it looks amazing!! However I do have two faults with it. The line on the snout seems kinda jaggy and I think the feet kinda pop too much given how snowy it is. If you'd have used like a speckle or spray tool to go over the feet and make it look like he was sinking in the snow I think that would've dropped him into the picture better. But again that's just a minor nitpick in this greatly done picture! The different scales of snow blowing gives this picture a wonderful sense of depth and really helps draw you into the scene. I think this is one of your best! lol and I'm glad you uploaded this too, my faves need some more color! I have too many uncolored pictures monopolizing my faves here of late. This is a happy addition to them ^w^ I think 2017 is going to be the year where your art shoots up a lot! Just like it has in the past! Never forget that you are an incredibly talented person with a real knack and skill for art! The more you push yourself to do full backgrounds or scenes the better you'll become, because trust me when I say this Hedge, I know you're destined to shine!

This pick was inspired by The Golden Compass. I really enjoyed the whole “His Dark Materials” trilogy. Of course I especially loved the Armored Bear Iorek Byrnison. Colby did a great job depicting my idea.

I have to agree with what Jyoo_C_Froot above wrote. I love the snow building up on Colby's hair too, and the effects you added. I'm a northerner myself and it's very much like going out in a snow storm. Though, I've never ridden a bear in a snowstorm before. (I should try that some time!)

 snowthebear looks absolutely epic too. I doubt any yetis or goblins would mess with Colby at all with Snow there!
