Aiden is a tiny whitetail deer. He's very nice, and very bashful, but he's also weak, chubby, prone to bouts of extreme gluttony, incredibly gullible, not very smart, socially awkward, dangerously impulsive, and tends to ruin everything with his ineptitude. He's extremely sensitive and attentive to his friend's needs, and will always drop what he's doing to provide emotional support. He's managed to secure his niche among the girls as the harmless gay friend. Unlike most male deer, he has a hard time growing his antlers in. They do come in, occasionally, but he's not really himself while he has them, returning to normal once they molt. He's very secretive about this.

Derek is a big, manly coyote. He's the strongest, meanest, and most sadistic bully in the whole city. He takes great pleasure in crushing, flattening, molding, inflating, wearing, and using whoever he comes across for whatever he wants before discarding them like trash. He's incredibly protective of his tiny, accident-prone boyfriend, and will zealously guard him from what he sees as danger. He's an incredibly pushy person and is used to getting what he wants without even having to ask. He's usually fairly cruel with the way he treats everyone around him, but he has been known to run afoul of people who are even worse than him and giving them back what they deserve.

Being small, weak, and helpless, Aiden seems like the kind of person that Derek would enjoy picking on the most, and yet they make a very happy and unlikely couple. But behind closed doors, Derek hides a terrible, shameful secret. He's extremely submissive, and gets an incredible thrill out of being treated the same way he treats everyone else and the burning indignity of being embarrassed and publicly humilated. Derek has a particular hatred for Aiden's persistent, perverted alpaca friend, Laura, and goes to great lengths to make her miserable. However, he also can't deny how much he enjoys it when she embarrassingly one-ups him in front of everyone, so he's of two minds on the girl. Aiden tries to help his boyfriend out with his secret fetish however he can, but giving Derek a much-deserved taste of his own medicine when you're that small and weak is a very involved process involving mechanical devices, bondage gear, and heavy roleplaying. But, the two somehow make it work, and are both deeply in love with each other.
