Here is a view of Death Angel's Pass, 7 kilometers (4 and a half miles) north of the village in the Meerkat Family's homeland in the Cunene Province of Angola.

For several hundred feet, the mountain pass is so narrow, the dirt road goes down to only one lane and must share the same right-of-way space with the narrow gauge railroad tracks.
On one side is a rock wall going straight up, and on the other side is a sheer drop going several hundred feet straight down...A wrong move on this stretch of road will get you killed real quick...It's no place to be stupid.

Speed limit for both vehicular traffic and trains while on this pass is 10 km/h (6mph).
Trains must toot their whistle at 10 second intervals to warn cars and trucks not to proceed onto the pass when a train approaches.
