This rather large figure (The biggest I've made in years) is Damarie. A character belonging to Dae who exists within the Firefly universe.
The sculpture itself was a birthday present for Dae because I was (and still am) too poor to actually buy decent presents at the moment. On the upshot though, I feel presents like this have a more personal touch, and folks can proudly (or not so proudly) claim that they've got the only one.
I'm not quite happy with how this turned out. But that was due to a few factors I was trying for the first time, like a full body armature with tinfoil "muscle" The problem was that as I sculpted, the tinfoil was darn near impossible to alter, so the anatomy was left far less defined then I'd like. Likewise because I baked her skull (yes, I made an actual skull jaw and all) separate from her head, when I realized I'd done it a bit too big, I had to compromise and give her an overly cherubic face.
There's certainly room for improvement on everything except that fish.

That fish is freaking gorgeous.

Oh, and for those wondering. Yes, that is a bonsai tree growing out of her eye socket.
