That is one girly gun. It probably would have done better if the weapon didn't have so many hearts on it.

Yeah, too close to the decoy gun in game effect. And a little too inuendo-laden for R&C, they normally don't make any 'sex as a weapon' type of situations. The good-looking bad girls don't manipulate the guys, they just act cute and then attack.

It's an extremely appropriate weapons for the series.

I think one of the reasons why it may have lost though, is that while it's an effective weapon, I'm not sure how many people really want another Decoy gun.

That is quite possibly the best 'decoy' weapon I have ever seen, the only problem with it would be that I would run into my own bombs too often!

Nice. Unfortunately, the only game in the series I've played is Deadlocked. I liked it, enough to where I really want to check out the rest of the games.

this is a very good idea, I don't know why they wouldn't consider it. I tried to think up some things, but didn't even come close to this. I like it.

Maybe if you had of submitted that to Konker, you would have won. It might be too "sexy" of an idea for Rachett and Clank....kinda like the "Erecto-Cocky" attack on "Tank Police".

I never played the series, but... I love the weapon concept.

Needs an additional warning, however: Do not operate if short on attention span. You ever see that episode of Family Guy when peter sets the trap with the anvil hanging from a rope over a dollar bill? Yeah.. I'd go running after my own bombs.

Not bad, but you forgot the fact that not all enemies, or creatures, (or ghost-zombie-pirate-robots) will be attracted to a beautiful woman. (weird, I know. but it is also a sad, sad truth.)

Now if every hologram was slightly different; with some holding a pizza, some holding a large chunk of meat, some with a large oilcan, some in a Japanese school-girl outfit (with a large oilcan), then it would be a more practical weapon.
But even then, with the limitations of holography as they are, it may just be easier to simply have a small, super-dense gravity field generator with a bomb in it as a weapon.

Then again, I feel the real reason this weapon was denied was more the fact that it would most definitely not make it past alpha-testing.
(You remember why the morpho-ray never really made it into the catalogs?)

Being a video game designer myself. Looking at this, while it's a weapon that would be quite awesome.We gotta remember that racket and clank is a very family friendly game. And I'm sure some high-strung mom would find a reason to bitch over a weapon that changes the characters gender to sexually attract a monster over only to explode.

I always wanted to see them make a Robert Heinlein 30 Second Bomb from the original Starship Troopers - the excellent book, not the evil movie.

It was - IIRC - a 6 to 8 inch sphere. You throw it into a room full of bad guys and it TALKS - remember this book was written in the fifties - it says - loudly - 'I AM A THIRTY SECOND BOMB! TWENTY NINE! TWENTY EIGHT!....'

They probably loved your idea, but didn't want to deal with the flack they would get from various people/organizations for putting a rather suggestive theme in an E rated game. I remember when that gag was in damn near every cartoon I saw growing up, and 70% of the time it was a guy in drag! XD

Now that I've gotten to look at the entries that did make the cut, this contest was not even vaguely based on drawing quality. I mean, look at the Qwark Machine entry. Or the Plasma Sprinkler Glove -- two-dimensional with crappy colored pencil, it's below even my limited drawing ability.

A lot better than the other weapons that made the top five. This one could be used as a comical weapon where the bad guy would fall in love with the hologram and then BOOM!

I didn't enter the contest myself but my idea would have probably involved a gun shoot thing banana peels which the enemy would slip on them or as a secondary fire a banana which would attract monkey to the enemy and fight him.
