Oh no, humans D:
I love breathing life back into my characters. A long time ago, I had a character nicknamed Dio (Gaius), a spoiled price-like lad who lived in a dionysian temple that I liked to use for stuffing.
it’s been a while since he was last seen, and things have changed.
Meet Calix Erebus. He’s based on my character for the tabletop RPG game Scion.
A veiled woman bearing sacred symbols of the god brought Calix to Gaius’ temple, requesting an audience with the head priests. Proclaiming this boy as a true child of their god, Dionysus, she offered him as a token of divine favour in return for treating him well.
Gaius, believing himself to be a child of the god, protested this and demanded proof of her claim. The woman did not react to his anger, but calmly told him that he held no divine blood and that the proof would come with the fortune and blessing Claix would bring. Gaius struck the woman for daring to challenge him.
The woman transformed into a tiger, revealing herself to be the diety all along, and swiped across Gaius’ stomach with a huge paw, before bounding out through the doors. All eyes turned to Calix, who was in as much shock as the rest. Immediately, the boy was swept up and taken to his new quarters, leaving Gaius to nurse his wounds and his ego.
Bitter from being stripped of his status, Gaius tried to treat Calix well and regain favour, but envy won over piety, and soon manifested in petty acts of revenge. Calix soon became an object for Gaius to punish in leiu of the god himself.
Forcefeeding Calix raw meat and strong alcohol under the guise of important rituals, eventually something within the demi god will awaken…
I’m hopefully planning on writing things for these two, but I am wanting to get more detailed biographies out for them both to join this establishing backstory.
I don't use them a lot, but I have a couple of drawings with Calix i want to upload so woop, little bios/establishing art :3
