Cool :) How much time does it take to warm up ?

I can't tell. It runs a bunch of diagnostics when you turn it on, and warms up the bubble memory at the same time. So by the time the diagnostics are done the bubble memory is ready, and then it loads the rest of the software.

Its a bit of computer archaeology project. But this is the class of hardware I grew up with. While the lathe itself is huge sharp and fast, the computer is downright relaxing. Let me know if you ever need something machined. (-:

That is some old school computing power.
Wish I kept some stuff I first saw, like a 64KB core memory board.

The old computers just had more style than the modern ones. I think I'll keep the modern ones though... (-:

Oh dear. I don't recall that one :)

The control is pretty primitive, even for the time. And the documentation (as you've noted) is lacking. I've spent way too much time trying to figure out why it's throwing errors, fixing hardware problems, and then having it still throwing the same errors.

I think it needs to meet Linux. It's a nice, solid machine tied to some seriously obsolete control hardware.
