So, a late heat wave ruined a lot of pumpkins (last year mine turned into a ball of mold days before Halloween.) Those left were less than useful and expensive besides. So I wanted something out there to say that, yes, we do have candy.

Sounds kinda lazy but I've been on this rodeo before so we don't purchase our pumpkins until the last week of even as close as the day before. It makes sure they're fresh on the day. That said, I didn't give any candy out this year. Only two rounds of trick-or-treaters came to the door and when I answered, they screamed and ran like hell. Nothing beats a good Baron Samedi costume.
