The breeze felt good today, at least it was cool enough to help stave off the heat of the sun. The summer had been unusually hotter then normal, though it probably wouldn't be that much better off inside, what with our air conditioner on the fritz.
"How much longer do we have to wait?"
I looked down at Gabe, his expression was flat as usual but there was clear annoyance in his tone.
"The landlord said she'd be here at 3:30 so... another twenty or so minutes."
"It seems rather unprofessional to keep paying tenants waiting like this. How are we supposed to trust her to actually help when something serious occurs like the plumbing is not working or the heat doesn't work during winter?"
"Well she is going out of her way for us considering it's for something as stupid as locking ourselves out of our own apartment."
"And who's fault is that again?"
I try my best to look away innocently, but then grin as I reach over to ruffle Gabe's hair. My hand still hurts from the other night, but at least I didn't need to use the other one which hurt every time I friggen moved it. Almost instantly after my hand touched his hair, his blank expression turned to one of annoyance. It was a relief actually.
"You know I don't like it when you do that."
"I know. Just making sure you're still with me."
