Into the forbidden depths of the mansion you delved, beneath he rotting floors and crumbling walls. You took the secret passage that recently had been opened, and followed into that stone-hewn room.
You know you shouldn’t be here. Passing sinister doors and uncomfortable smells are making you regret your path through the mansion, until you see a glowing white light ahead. It’s light tracing around the edges of a door, inviting and hopeful. Compared to the hideous cavern and the sinister-looking doors, this one looks like salvation. Wait, maybe this was the way out!
The door seems to glow brighter as you get closer, but as you reach for it, something rumbles beneath you. Suddenly there’s no floor beneath you at all! You’ve been caught by a trap door! Helplessly you fall down into the darkness below.
Something cushions your fall. Checking beneath you on whatever it was, to your horror, you make out a femur. You throw it away, only to discover another bone. You’ve fallen on a great pile of bones. Trying to stand up, you fall down the edge of that pile, and land in shallow icy water.
Landing in the shallows, a ripple from your splash moves out into the darkness. You hear a low ribbit echoing in the deep dark cave, resounding off the cold lake in front of you. You hear it again, closer, and you follow the sound moving into the frigid water. As the ribbit echoes again, you wade further into the water, as the cold bothers you less and less. Skin becomes scaly and your hands and feet web.
Your face pushes out, and the next ribbit comes from your mouth. As the dark water closes in around your warped form, you have become the AMPHIBIAN HORROR
This was probably the meanest of the rooms, hiding a trap door in front of a happy door. The room itself is inspired by the mysterious and huge bone pile in the Karazhan Crypts, but the creature is a reference to my favorite card from Shadows over Innistrad: the Gitrog Monster: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/C.....Gitrog+Monster
