After the first six Oregon Class Battleships had been built by KarmaTech and  Rocketdyne, EarthForce contacted both firms to start building a Mark 2 version that would incorporate certain elements from the new Omega Class Destroyer, namely the rotating midsection and propulsion block. As the bridge was to be located in the rotating area, there was no need for a bridge structure atop the forward top area.
