Get tha last bit of warm sunshine in
Yesterday was somewhat warm and sunny, and I decided to get my various critters out for natural sunlight over reptile UVB bulbs. I wanted especially to get the little female Collared Lizard out for her needed dose. I generally place her in a mesh cat airline bag, mainly cause she'd slip through any wire cages and to offer some protection in case of wandering Sandhill cranes that still lurk about. If spooked she'll hide under the wool padded bottom.
So for a good half hour I stood there, as she basked on top of the carrier, playing reptilian solar panel. Then the clouds moved back in and dropped the temps.
I captured her in Tucson back in March, she was 2 inches long, nose to vent, today she's just over 3.5 inches, nose to vent, 8 inches long overall. And she's fully calmed down. I've taken her to two reptile shows locally to show these mugs what a real Collared lizard looks like and its fun seeing hard core breeders shocked that she was a wild capture and yet so tame.
And oddly, she's still unnamed. Though my daughter insists calling her Izzy. I personaly don't want her named after some lunatic from Total Drama Island.
