Open invitation?
Caught this sign actually on a house I delivered to tonight and thought it rather odd they would have this on their front door of their private home. As the customer was signing his credit card slip I asked him why the sign on the door?
"Because we don't like firearms of any kind and our neighbor is in the army, owns a gun and we want people to know our home is a Safety zone, a gun-free zone in case he snaps."
I asked him "Out of curiosity, has your home ever been burglarized?"
Guy goes "Uhhh, 3 times in the past 2 years, why?"
Me. "Just curious."
Yeah, just advertise "Hey Criminals, Come Rob us, we won't harm you!"

Actually that's as bad an idea as the one posted here. It lets bad guys know that there are guns in the house and maybe other things worth taking.
Best thing to do is not advertise at all.
Criminals hate surprises..especially 12guage ones pointed at their faces..so they look for houses where things are advertised, like open curtains showing off the goods or signs that give them valuable information.

The whole problem with gun free zones is that you really have to have people with guns guarding the gates. Otherwise what you really have is a disarmed victim zone.
It's an interesting coincidence that all of these mass shootings we hear about in the news happen in places that have gun free zone signs or are gun free zones by law. News flash! Criminals who are intent on committing mass murder are not going to give a rats ass about the additional penalty for violating a gun free zone.

I go to places that are gun free zones all the time with mine on me. All be it they are private establishments and not places like banks, schools, or government buildings.
I mean, I'm not breaking a law that I know of, all they can do is ask you to leave...if they know you have it that is.
I'm a firm believer in "What they don't know won't hurt them" and if anything benefits them if the need arises.
Also, I love Tennessee. They recently passed a bill saying that any establishment that doesn't allow people with carry permits to have a weapon on their person is liable for their well being if anything like an active shooter arises in that place of business.
I'm REALLY hoping that makes a few places around here rethink their ideas on disarming law abiding citizens in their establishment.

Ya know,,,
I've steered away from that concept, from WAY back (the Stockton schoolyard shooting in California)...
Institutions (no pun intended), that forbid the People's Right to carry a firearm, and are then the scene of mass slaughter by the deranged who don't give a shit about any 'Law'?
Surprised the lawyers haven't pounced the hell out of this already.

I think they took a regular business sign and used it as their home sign. Actually this is the third home I've delivered to that had a no guns sign up. Just this one I was able photograph without the homeowner watching. Theres one place I hope to deliver to again, they actually had a sign up stating that absolutely no guns allowed on the property, and it includes police. Naturally they also had a ton of Hillary yard signs.
If the police disarm, it's a courtesy or orders from their superiors. I wouldn't doubt that a court would find it illegal for private citizens to order cops to disarm before coming on their property without some really significant and unusual conditions (like a natural gas leak, in which case the homeowner probably isn't in charge at that time).
I don't need a court to tell me that. A private citizen can ask the cops to leave their property if the contact is consensual. But if they want to play games, I have other calls for service to attend to, and they can solve their problems by themselves. If there is a bona fide emergency, their personal wishes are irrelevant.
More than once, I've been asked to remove my boots before entering an asian household with a no-shoes rule. I've declined every time. The boots are part of my uniform (as is the gun) and I'm not about to take my uniform off. Usually I can mitigate by talking to them outside the house. But if i've come to arrest someone, politeness goes out the window, and mud on the carpet is really the least of their problems.

I really love it when people proclaim their homes a weapon free zone...
If someone is gonna come in uninvited, do you think they're gonna care if you dont like guns?
Thats why I seriously dont get the whole gun/knife amnesty thing the UK did a few years back...
Come hand in your deadly weapons and we wont prosecute you.
The only people that would do this, are the people that would never use them in the first place. And who wouldnt? Those that WOULD use them... against the now unarmed people.
Brilliant idea isnt it?

Gun free zones only put targets on the people that are in them. We have much the same mentality out here in the San Juan Islands by the liberals that have moved here and taken over for the most part.
The area I live I have four neighbors that have there own range space, so I hear the liberal neighbors whine about the other neighbors disturbing the peace with their guns and shooting. I pointed out to one of them that if he were to go looking in the crime log of the sheriff's office he would find crime and break ins are very low in the area.
He blinked a few times and shook his head and asked "Why is that?" Clearly he doesn't understand the connection. So I had to point it out that the criminal mind doesn't like getting hurt, but they like hurting others... If they think they are going to get hurt much less killed for their actions they are going to go someplace safer for them, like gun free zones.

Clearly this individual is wearing some new variety of rose tinted glasses. I just don't get the way libtards like that think. It's been said many times, but I'll say it again: "Gun Free Zone" signs are just an advert that the sheeple within have disarmed themselves for the criminal's convinience.
I got my CPL last week and I plan on giving it some purpose next weekend. And a rifle if I can find a good deal.

"Oh wow. I didn't even know you were carrying." a lot of friends will say when they see me lock my handgun up in my vehicle or something.
"That's kind of the point. That means I'm doing it right." I tell them.
Signs like that on someone's residence are nothing more than a shitty way of announcing your political viewpoints. It serves no purpose. I'm certain they have no friends that own guns anyhow. Anyone I know who owns a gun wouldn't associate with someone like that in the first place, so what's your goal, kiddo? You just want to piss people off and be a self-righteous dick who posts signs on his own front door.
And like I said, if I'm doing it right, you wouldn't even know I had it on me in the first place.
