Wow. o_o Is this played by hand?

Composed and played by hand :) I will get around to uploading the sheet music for it, but its quite complicated as you can imagine :P

awwr well thank you! It's mostly broken chords that are played, some parts are tricky but accomplishable just repeating it a million times. It's the most technical thing I've done yet, hopefully the score won't scare you too much from having a go :)

I can tell, but still it boggles my mind. I just have a ton of refining to do on my own work, and maybe some actual instruction since none of this is guided or really taught to me. I appreciate you watching me back, for whatever reason. ^^

I play using a Yahama Clavinova digital piano, piping the MIDI through to my PC running Logic Platinum 5.5 Pro sequencing software. I then apply this amazing (4GB) grand piano sample set I have, do a little mastering, bounce the track out to a WAV and encode ready for online!

Woow *curls up and peeps over tail* You make me sound such a small-timer X3 I got a Roland E-09W for myself over Xmas, i just use a high-quality phono L and R output into my PC's sound card, which i then record on a masters version of Wavepad o.o Your method, sounds 10x more complex and awesome damnit X3

Hehe :P *picks you up, plonks on his lap in front of the PC*. I took a music-technology course in College to learn this stuff, it peaked my interest so I carried on learning on my own steam afterwards. If ya like you can send me your MIDI files and I will master them in the same way.

Remember though, its not about the mastering / effects etc, its the music underneath that counts :) All this stuff is just the sparkle.

Now this is going to sound incredibly silly me asking this but i need to know: How do I get MIDI to USB connector (the correct version anyway) to go from my Roland into my PC, and what software (besides the somewhat expensive Sibelius) is there to pick it up and sequence it?

well for interfaces you are spoilt for choice! pretty much any interface will do, as long as the plugs fit into the back of your keyboard - the default should be 2 plugs: one for MIDI IN, another for MIDI out. They are circular shaped.

As for sequencing software, you really have to go for the money apps to get soemthing worthwhile. You can pickup student copies of Cubase or Logic relatively cheap however.

And its really not a prob, doesn't take more than 30 mins to clean something up good enough for an FA upload :)

Hey - neat! This is my kind of piano music...I love repeated broken chords...it's very much my style of writing for expressive pieces. And it's a refreshing change to hear a LIVE REAL piano instead of synth or looped. Gosh, I wish my piano was sounding this good - it's an old one and the sustaining pedal's being dodgy, so the sound kinda blurs in to each other on faster pieces, otherwise I'd already have recorded some of me playing live. How many takes did you need (or how much practice)? *pats you on the back* well done badger!

Hey, well thank you very much! I love the broken chords too, adds a certain fullness and flow :) I wish my piano sounded this good too! I have a digital piano with a really good keying action on, but the sound is rubbish; instead I pipe it through MIDI to a Grand Piano sample set I have.

Yes this took a lot of practice, in the end I actually played the 'dumbed down' version. My technical skill in playing scales / arpeggios isn't there yet, I'l re-upload when I can do it well enough!

Bah - you deceived me with your cunning midi-samples :p Sounded pretty sweet though :) *chuckles* At least I'm not the only person who has to play slightly dumbed down versions of tunes in order to get the performance *wipes forehead* Still, much kudos, I'm sure I'd need a lot of practice to get that (plus multiple take-editing).
