Almost everyone had left Edfu by the time you realized the temple was closing. The guards locked up and left for the evening, somehow they missed you. Must have been an accident, right? Now you’re alone in that court with the statue of the temple’s patron: Horus.
The massive sculpture was one of Edfu’s prime attractions, and it drew you after all, didn’t it? The ancient statue commanded the court’s entrance and exits, staring imperiously out beyond the temple, and into the desert. You approach the commanding statue and although you know you shouldn’t you bring your hand to the statue’s folded wing.
Or at least you attempted to.
Before you can make contact, the statue’s eyes blaze with life. You step back, worried you’d done something wrong, or damaged it. You can’t find anything odd, except the font of power leaking out of the state’s carved eyes. Then to your surprise; the ankh you wear around your neck beings to glow brightly in the same fashion as the statue. It lifts off your chest, and the glowing aura spreads around you bathing you in a sea of light. That’s when you heard the ripping of your clothing, and felt the growth of the feathers.
Your face melds into a beak, and a tail sprouts out from the end of your spine. Feathers hide most of the skin, and senses sharpen. Talons replace feet, and great wings replaced arms. The Falcon God’s eyes remain glowing until the transformation is complete.
Night has fallen, and the statue is dark. The new falcon spreads his wings and soars out of the temple.

And that’s the last of the Ancient Egyptian batch!
Thanks again everyone who purchased a slot. These were a blast, and I’ll totally miss the orange a purple pallet I used as the starting point for these!
