Jasper's mother was known only as "Miss Right" in the movie The Secret of NIMH. She is unnamed in this story as well, though if I had the liberty of giving her a name, I'd call her "Janet," given the book/movie's penchant for names beginning with J (Justin, Jenner, Jeremy and Johnathan).

That, of course, is the main reason why I chose the name "Jasper" for the little guy.
