Here we have one of The Golden Rooster's central characters, the boy-turned-mouse Jacob.
Jacob is a human boy from the real world, where Bruno Gold and all of his animal friends are contained within a magical storybook bought by his father. When Jacob's father attempts to read the book to him, his family's farm comes under assault by a terrible storm...The same one just described in the book! And due to his overactive imagination, Jacob attempts to summon Bruno to help him with the storm...Unfortunately, he inadvertently summons the book's villain, the Chancellor of Owls, instead! The evil Chancellor then transforms Jacob into a small brown mouse. Fortunately, he's saved by Bruno's animal friends, and he then joins forces with them to find Bruno and bring him back home.
Jacob is shy, timid, and easily frightened, though he can be prove himself to be quite brave at times. And despite being the smallest member of the group of farm animals, he's among the most important, due to the information he gained from the storybook that the other animals didn't know about before.
On the left is Jacob in his clothes provided by the Jay family; on the right is how Jacob looks after being freshly transformed by the Chancellor.
