So, we got our new car on Wednesday, a 2017 model "Protonic Blue" fully-electric BMW i3, that looks like this: https://cleantechnica.com/2016/05/0.....night-blue-i3/ :) (Though we had previously pre-ordered a Tesla Model 3, we decided against it after all, as we didn't feel like waiting 3 years to get it, plus, it doesn't have practical storage capacity or a large hatchback opening, both of which we really need. Thankfully, Tesla gives refunds for pre-orders!)
We have dubbed our i3 "Blu", as a nod to Rio, one of our fave movies/chars...and at night, as you can see, the interior and handles even glow blue! :D (Sorry the pics are a bit grainy, but my phone doesn't take good pics in poor light; that's why this is in Scraps.) I'll post a pic later of the exterior in the sunlight, and we need to find some suitable decals for it, too (most likely a pair of wings, one on either side, possibly these: https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/c1.....f453d5c41.jpeg ).
We have really fallen in love with this car; it's so comfortable, quiet (even more-so than our Nissan LEAF), turns on a dime, has a LOT of storage room when the back seats are laid completely flat (a requirement for fursuit boxes), and is a friggin' little speed demon! (Though we don't speed in it, except just to get onto the highway; it goes from 0-100km/h in 7.2 secs.) O_o Anyway, our friend
Aslan_Nolya is adopting our "Leafie" (you can guess which movie she was named after). ;) She served us very well, and we'll miss her, but she'll be going to a good home. We just needed something with a longer range, that charges faster (especially in winter), since this is our only car, and we drive A LOT, plus long distances as well. :)

We're in Norway, the electric car capital of the world. :) They are literally everywhere you look! Due to the incentives on them, a quarter of all of the cars sold here are electric, and that percentage is growing rapidly each month. There are several types of compact electrics here, but many buy the larger Tesla SUVs, Nissan vans, and even Tesla trucks are selling as well now.
Very interesting. They've been slowly getting our area setup more for electric car owners. The mall had new charge stations put in a few months ago. Aside from that the only other place that has them is a grocery store. Our area is still fairly remote for driving electrics around atm. But it's nice to see they're becoming more popular. :)
Funny enough. After I posted this response yesterday, I went for a drive to a secondhand/antique shop today located in a town 6 miles away from my house . I saw one of these cars parked on the side of the street as I walked down the sidewalk. It was mainly white with black two-tone and faint blue accents. It also had different alloy wheels. It also had a local license plate on it which I was surprised to see as these cars were always driven by someone out of Quebec. So it's nice to see there's different choices vs BMW's larger and more expensive sport sedans. :)
It's understandable to see why you go electric. Sadly for us we're not quite there yet. Especially when regular cars are still cheaper for us to use. There's still people around here using clunky old K-cars from late 80's early 90's because they're cheap. Especially for someone who can't afford to buy a car to begin with. :)
