Here's another piece. Dr. Murdock. Doesn't that name seem familiar?

He looks just like the Jack guy who appeared in the hospital too. I had a feeling that Gem flipped out in the trial because it was a bit too personal to her.

Somebody else said Murdock, too about the trial, and I had to go back. In her dream, 'Mr. Murdock' indeed does look just like Jack, ear bent down, etc. However, in her recalling the actual court event, you don't get to see who is on trial, and there is no mention of name. So, is her dream accurate? Was the actual trial for 'Mr. Murdock' or 'Dr. Murdock' or someone else?
Is there a real Dr. Murdock and Jack's a patient in the facility and he's just using Murdock's name?
I THOUGHT I might know how this is going to end, but our scribe and artist is just too smart for me!

I did some rereading and looks like Murdock is Gem's last name.
Her mom has that last name too, which makes sense if they are married.

I kind of wonder if the dream trial is in some way a flashback as well as expressing Gem's anxiety. I've always thought of the trial as a flashback. It came true in the real trial because Gem's mind made it true with her mental condition. There might have been things related to the trial that triggered certain memories. Especially if the case is very similar to her own.
I've also kind of wondered if Jack becomes a stand in character whenever Gem feels insecure, in danger, or anxious in some way.
But what confuses me is the nurse acknowledging Dr. Murdock. There either has to be a real Dr. Murdock, or Gem got out of bed and wrote that herself or any number of weird things going on. Also possible the whole story is some kind of dream or life or death situation. I've seen people mention they think this whole story started because Gem fell in the first page.

You know, I didn't remember that page when Nicole was going to give Gem up. I don't know how I missed that 'minor detail'.
I assumed that since Gem was never adopted that she retained her family name of "Polson." Now, I don't know where that name came from, or how she got it.
I still don't believe there is a Jack, but Souffle would also be 'Murdock', but why would he want to put Gem on such a massive amount of drugs, I just don't know.
Curiouser and Curiouser . . .

Gem's last name might have gone through a name change at the time she was put in an orphanage/ up for foster care. Perhaps it was for her protection somehow? Either so she couldn't find out she was a survivor of a crime (if she was the sole survivor of an arson case) or if her father was involved in an investigation. Or any number of possibilities to keep her from finding out her biological family. (I do recall some mention she was in an orphanage, either from one of toddlergirl's comments or on a page in the comic (I forgot the page number).
But yes, very curious indeed. I overlooked the Murdock detail with Gem's mom too. I just took it at face value and didn't link it to anything special until now.

As a diagnosed masochist, I love needles. But, the fact that she's getting a drug cocktail that she likely doesn't need is EXTREMELY terrifying to me. Did you ever see the movie, Jacob's Ladder? This is beginning to remind me a bit of it, and that's like the most scariest movie in the whole wide world to me
That's crazy that someone should recommend it just as the plot of Found is reaching this point! I wouldn't say it's quite the same, but in spirit it is similar! The protagonist of the movie, like Gem, begins experience strange visions and seeing weird things during the day. Eventually the line between what's real and what isn't becomes blurred entirely. And that's like my ultimate deepest darkest personal fear: losing all sense of reality
I saw Jacob's Ladder when I started getting in on Silent Hill. The film seemed a little tame to me (at least by today's standards) but I found a lot of it to be unnerving. It is undeniably a creepy movie that set a standard for psychological horror and is definitely better than recent films of the genre.
As for Found, I can see similarities between it and the film as its come closer to the end, but I don't think anyone would give you heat for how the story has been turning. Honestly, I didn't notice any parallel until this comment pointed it out to me.

If you liked Fight Club, you'll probably appreciate Jacob's Ladder. It's production quality is really starting to show its age at this point, it was made in the late 80s/early 90s and it's really easy to tell, but still a good film. Proper terrifying if you ask me. But I've harped on it enough I think. More Found, please! :]
and/or the guy on trial here for murder.

I came late to this update and surprised hardly anyone mentioned this page.

I remember a comment toddlergirl made about the few colors that do show up on the page and to pay attention to them. It was either here or on Deviantart. Either way I have a feeling there is something relevant to that incident to what is going on now.
But yeah that was an interesting dream. it could be symbolizing stuff from her past too.

I have a hunch Mr. Murdock = her father. Stalking case = Jack stalking her mother? She might not have remembered this, but her subconscious knew. Thus the dream and her flipping out in a PTSD like incident.
Mr. Murdock appeared just like the Jack that appeared in her hospital room.
Now if the REAL trial she was involved with deals with the same defendant as the one in her dreams, that we don't know. But it would be interesting if it is.

Yes the plot thickens. I'm hoping for a reveal that will help shed light on this story and how Dr. Murdock relates to Gem, if he is Jack and what the outcome will be. The drug does seem to help so far though. But I wait to see the end result. He could be a Dr. Kivorkian like figure all we know.
This creepy guy who thought he was helping Alzheimer's and mentally ill patients by assisting them with sucicide:

Coincidentally his name was also Jack. Interesting.
Though hopefully instead of suicide in this comic, Dr. murdock's med would just reset their lives as babies. Considering this is a regression comic.

I'm thinking the worst that can happen is she will get knocked out and wake up as a baby. Paul becomes her adoptive father. I get this impression because I've only seen Gem's adult form in the comic. All other drawings of Gem from the artist are in her baby form with Paul being the caretaker. Since Gem is the artist's Fursona, it makes sense.
It could be a terrible ending that the malicious doctor intended (or the even the good doctor intended as a way to give Gem a fresh start), but given Paul's character, it could be made into a happy one. And considering this is a regression comic it is what I expect to happen.

Also, isnt she supposed to apply something to the spot FIRST before injecting the IV? (IV meaning Intravenous, meaning an injection sent into your bloodstream...and given that angle, she has it going straight back to the heart; eugh. Not good. )
D42 drug trial? I don't want to know what that is, but we'll find out anyway and I imagine it was Jack, Gem's daddy, who did that.

Hmmm....I think I just realized he's the demented, holding onto these delusions for so long BUT then again...Hmmm...Eh well find out what D42 does; could be a depressant or antidepressant I mean. She's been taking some messed up medication. It's possible that was Jack but he might've changed things...so he could be with his only child, probably to apologize.
I'm struggling not to write what would be a highly personally related response on your art which I don't feel is appropriate but the sense in not being in control, not being understood, more accurate misunderstood and treated through diagnosis that are incorrect is a very powerful feeling and emotion you've depicted so well comes over clearly. One hopes Paul straightens this out!
Nah, the notes weren't tampered with. You just have paranoia. the notes said so, so it must be true. Hmm, you seem to be having an adverse reaction to the meds, but the notes said to give you this, so you must be ok. What do you mean my medical license is being revoked? I did what those notes told me to do. How was I supposed to know they were tampered with? It's not like anyone told me.
Mr. Murdock. Weren't you the guy who was on trial in Gem's dream for murder?!

Also compare Mr. Murdock:

Stylized. Missing the burn scar, but same hair cut.
Jack in Gem's hospital room before he signs off Gem's papers (as Dr. Murdock):

He has the same haircut in both scenes, down to the bangs. Same eye color too.
