Panting after running for such a long distance, two small cats hid inside an old shed after dropping their catch, a large fish that was about the size of themselves! Flicking their ears some, they hold their breath as they hear footsteps getting closer as well as loud shouting. Looking at each other, they close their eyes and just wait for the inevitable.

"Where did those damn cats go! That was my best catch today!"

"Don't worry boss, we'll find them. As big as that fish was, they couldn't have gotten very far!"

Shivering in fear at being caught, both tired cats sat next to each other and let out very soft meows as the footsteps get closer. Slowly opening their eyes, they both see a brief flash of white before loud honking could be heard just before the shouts of the humans that were chasing them!

"GAH! What the hell is that!!!"

"W-woah! It's a pelican boss! I think it might have a nest around here or something!"

"FUCK THAT! I WANT MY FISH BACK!"

"LISTEN! If it saw those cats come through here, or especially that fish, it would be all over them! They can't be over here sir!"

"Grrrrr...you better be right boy. I fucking hate cats..."

After hearing that, the sound of the footsteps grew fainter and fainter until they were gone completely. Slowly getting up, both cats walk to the door of the shed but jump back as the pelican comes flying down and lands right next to the door. The large bird looks at them for a while, it's stare completely blank and unreadable. It felt like an eternity to them, but the bird soon gives them strange nod before looking away. Looking at each other again, the two cats gulp some.

Vanilla: Heh...it l-looks like he's trying to protect us~

Mukiro: Y-yeah. I think that too...t-that really is a surprise! B-but let's hurry and dig in before it changes it's mind or those humans come back!

Nodding, Vanilla turned around along with Mukiro before the two walked up to the large fish. Licking their lips, they happily pounced on it before starting to dig in. Their tails eagerly wagging at a good day's catch!~
