The first chapter in Cain's first case, Enter la Gazza. A hare, Cain Coney, runs a 1950s, Hell's Kitchen-based private detective agency with his assistant, Matilda Manderly (a porcupine). In this first case, the client is New York affluent Douglas Darrow, who's had, shall we say, an object of considerable worth stolen from him. Cain has less than three days to retrieve the object in question -- can he manage it?
