Aside from the fact that this piece is dope, I can relate to the description.
Part of me feels that I did my best work during class, whether high school or college. That's pretty much what I miss from those days: that artistic drive.

That's a simple remedy: find 3 really good artists to get jealous of and practice religiously with your jealousy as a motivator to catch up to them. It's been working well for me so far.
