Grumman X-29

This Grumman X-29 was flown by NASA and the USAF to test the forward-swept wing design, and other technologies. Two X-29 aircraft were flown from 1984 through 1991.

When I was growing up, this X-29 was one of my top favorite unique USAF planes. I still like this aircraft. Its soo cool lookin.

According to Wikipedia, the plane was expected to be extremely maneuverable due to its inherent instability. However, this didn't turn out to be the case because of the systems required to stop pitching out of control.
