As I walk through the dark, overgrown forest, I feel a heavy weight pressing down on my shoulders. I had heard the stories of fort Ajax in my last years as a soldier before I retired. I had never personally been there but I had gotten a tip of a massive supplies cache that rested in the deep bowels of the ill forsaken military bunker. It apparently held several hundreds of civilian animans after the bombs fell upon us. After that no one ever heard from the bunker again. The only news that ever seemed to come back was from the traders who went there. None who made it back went inside. All the reports reference to a shadowy man atop the fort, starring down upon the traders, never moving, with an almost shadow like smoke emanating off of him. He is said to be the lost spirit of one of the many who died in the shelter. No one knows if there are any living animans still inside, but its said that none survived or that they up and left, to be spread out among the wasteland. But one thing is for sure...it is no longer guarded. I left the path to walk into a clearing, and it lay in front of me. The dark building stood before me, broken and old. The lightning flashed as a storm began to brew in the perpetual cloud cover, and I jumped. For an instant I got a glimpse of a hanging corpse, with a large sign hanging around his broken neck, reading "This is what happens to THIEVES!". "Jesus..." I said as I regained my breath, "That's lovely..."
