I admit, I dont know this derivative of the Mauser. Care to elaborate?

Unlike the regular C-96 Mauser, AKA Broomhandle, with a 10 round fixed magazine, the Bolo Mauser was a 20 round detachable magazine version. This was a favorite weapon of Chinese Warlords.

Especially the machine pistol version. The warlord's bodyguards dealt with the massive recoil of firing something this small on full-auto by simply holding it sideways, so the recoil produced a 'fan' at about waist height instead of the user 'shooting clouds' after the third round or so.

I've owned 3 over the years, kinda regretted selling them off, though one was a complete POS, was originally 7.63 converted to 9mm so the ammo staggered in the magazine and wouldn't feed, traded it off for a 1898 Krag Jorgenson rifle, second one was a badly rusted out and shot out literally to smooth bore, kept mainly as a prop til somebody offered me $200 for it. The third was a real beauty, with wooden shoulder stock/holster in 7.63 . But firing 7.62 ammo proved its downfall since 7.63 wasn't found. I ate 3 sets of springs at $75 a set and a locking lug at another $115. I paid $300 for it, traded it for an AR-15 in 92. I want another one, but they are far too pricey now.

Oh wait, I think I heard of those! Excuse my absolute scrublordishness, but I think one of the characters in Metal Gear Solid 3 had one, complete with the below mentioned firing-technique.

One shot from a Hellbore (The main armament of a Bolo) would turn that into radioactive slag.

To be fair, a pre-Iowa battleship on tank treads (IIRC on Mk 33 specs, been a while) is going to be kinda hard to fit on the page without making any meatbags in the picture kind of difficult to see.

Yes, I do. and I loved them. even the anthology of other writers who took a pen at them. there was one where the Bolo was thwarted by slag welding the turret in place. brave human inside crawled out, planted explosive charges, and the moment he set them off, it cleared the slag and allowed the Bolo to fire the winning shot of the battle....

I actually toyed drawing you as a Philippines partisan fighting the Japs, but couldn't see Red involved.

I grew up in a gang infested area, so call me paranoid, I keep sharp stabby things, heavy choppy things, and things that go bang strategically placed placed about the place, including machetes.

Yeah, I wish I had the digital skills, I need to sit down and practice, but I saw the Surface book pro had what I want, but at $1900, no way I can afford one.

I the US Civil war, I could see her 'hiding' among the troops, most likely with the New York 69th or some mainly Scottish unit. Girl wouyld be deadly with a bayonet. I honestly haven't put much thought of her in modern era battles. I told  West once I could see her as a Biker type, Truck driver as a job in the modern era. Outside drawing her in the Zootopia universe with a much reduced bustline.

I haven't bought any guns for over a year -- Konnektikut's got some insane gun laws lately -- but I need to get out there, use my C&R FFL and pick up a few Mausers. Never owned one and they're scarcer than hen's teeth lately (I blame Obama).
