ealadubh wanted a goofball commission. And dredged up a nightmare from my childhood.
But adding a Alien chestburster to the kids show would have been highly entertaining today!! Of coarse I had to plush out the parasite

Wiki on The Bugaloos: "Touted as the British version of The Monkees, The Bugaloos attracted more than 5,000 young actors and actresses to audition for the show's four lead roles, each having to demonstrate aptitude in dance, singing, and acting."
We HAD a British version of The Monkees: THEY WERE CALLED THE BEATLES. :P

Oh damn, I hated that show. Most of those shows were bad, but H. R. Puffnstuff was nightmarish. Witchie-poo was bad, but that damned eyeless flute with those mad, empty sockets, just made it all the worse. The rest of the Sid & Marty Kroft shows of that period were bad, but the dippy southern fried dragon was the worst. It hasn't aged well either. That brand of chaos and lame slapstick looks so amateurish. Only their first big show, the Banana Splits worked because it was sped up and in small doses. But that damned flute....
I did as well, and yet, like flies to rotting meat I would watch it. Sigmund the sea monster was equally bad, between the Archie Bunker father and ludicrous family of blobs and the show destroyed the career of Johnny Whitaker.
Lidsville was the peak of Sid and Marty Kroft infliction IMO, Bugaloos was at that point "Too British" and thankfully later in my years to avoid.

Sick, sick, sick!
Funny, funny, funny!
'S'funny, CBS cancelled H.R.Pufnstuf the week after Christmas, 1969, with only 17 episodes in the can. Then they reran 'em for three years. Sigmund, on the other hand, was the first Krofft show to get a second season. How bad is that?
