Mind you, I've been thinking myself that if I would ever want to leave home to have my own house, I'm thinking of having a pet snake myself and I absolutely adore ball pythons, although one concern that I've leant is that they are nocturnal animals so that would mean it would be sleeping during the day which kind of sucks. Also these particular snakes are notorious for going off feed sometimes and the only other concern is can you have a snake as well as a dog or would that be a problem?. :p

It's not mine, she's belong to a friend ^^ I can't have pets with my work, at least for the moment :(. Anyways, if you think to have a python for the diet you need to give your python one rat per two weeks or 5 mice every week. They are nocturnal indeed, you can have a dog and a python, she has 2 cats and 2 pythons for example, but she doesn't let the snakes walk around in front of them without monitoring. The cats know already that they can't approach if the snakes was out ^^.

Ok but still if they sleep during the day then you won't see them much.

You will see them, especially in late afternoon, so indeed you're a little chance to see them during days hours

I suppose that's true. I think the only other thing I can think of is cleaning the tank. :p

I've asked my friend, apparently it's not so complicated. You must clean it every two months, earth and wood chips too^^
