Sonja the Vampire Cat
Unless you're new to my accounts, you should know I'm developing a series called "Bloodlove". It's a spin-off from Teufort Times, my series that's gimmick is that it has multiple alternate universes (and only the main two character really know about that) and I tend to get very attached to certain ones. When The Fur Flies is the Furry AU now a series and Bloodlove is the first one to branch off into it's own series. It even has a prequel kids series! That's kinda... not canon? It's confusing. It was originally going to be about the relationship between a Werewolf and Human titled The Moonlight Shift, like the AUs from TT and WTTF (Moonlight Shift AU). But, that idea didn't pan out for me, since writing an non-talking character as a MAIN CHARACTER is a challenge for me and got old quick. ...okay, I'll get to my point in a second...
Anyway, the series is about Di (who is a Dhampiressa in this series (Dhampirs are Half-Human/Half-Vampire hybrids to those who don't know.)) and Ben (who is a Bounty Hunter who (holy crap, What a Twist!), hunts Monsters instead! Whoops, I mean, "Ugly Americans". Darn P.C. Watchdogs...). Their relationship is unique and stands out a lot in the series, as the two of them should be enemies but they get along despite who they are. However, they receive criticism, bullying, discrimination and such from others once they find out they're together. The plot basically changes through the series, but the consistent theme is that Di, wants to be accepted by either group and never is, because both hate her and she feels like she has to prove herself so either side will take her. After a while, she says eff it and starts mowing down other supernatural creatures along with her hubby. I won't spoil more than that.
RandomPerson5683: GET ON WITH THE POINT
Me: Okay, damn.
This is Sonja. She appears sometime in the series and will get a huge episode introducing her, similar to that of Socrates (who in this series is a Weredog). Spoilers ahead, so ignore the rest of this page until I say [SPOILERS OVER]. [Warning, Wall o' Text]
[SPOILERS START HERE]
Sonja shows up like Socrates, out of nowhere. Okay, not NOWHERE, but I mean, with no warning. Ben was feeling lonely, because Di has Socrates and he has no one. I mean, he has his wife, but she's not his pet (That would be FRICKING AWKWARD). ...err, I mean, friend. ᴵ ᶠᵒʳᵍᵒᵗ ˢᵒᶜʳᵃᵗᵉˢ ʰᵃᵗᵉˢ ᵇᵉᶦᶰᵍ ᶜᵃᶫᶫᵉᵈ ᵃ "ᵖᵉᵗ"⋅ So, he goes out and gets one. This ugly, old, wrinkly, holes-in-the-ears, ratty, mangy, fleabitten cat. ...wait, I just insulted myself. A lot. ... FU--
He claims her picked her, because all of the other cats were acting fearful and aggressive towards him and for some reason, the shelter wanted her gone. He felt sorry for her and noticed how affectionate she was with him and wondered why everyone was so mean to her. He also sadly states that he's been wanted a replacement cat since his older cat, Jack (a Gray Tabby he had until he died of old age at 20 (when Ben was a teenager)) died and for the longest, he had a hard time adopting a new one, since he felt it was disrespectful. And... after some time, he figured that Jack would want him to be happy and have his spirit live on in the new cat. ANNNNNND, Di has Socrates to make her happy, he needs someone, too (and it'd be TOTALLY fine if Socrates didn't hate his guts and Ben didn't hate dogs).
Socrates is immediately aggressive towards the cat, and since he's unable to talk to both Di and Ben, no one's sure why. In the many interactions Socrates has with her, he keeps alerting her to how he's on to her and she plays totally innocent or gets him in trouble somehow, so Ben'll get mad at him and the trail will go cold. Socrates finally gets the chance to communicate as best as he can to Di and she decides to check the cat out. She touches her on the back and the cat shrieks and runs off. Just that bit of contact lets Di know what's up with her: She's not a normal cat, because she has an aura, which is something only supernatural and magical creatures/animals have in that world. Humans don't possess them, because humans don't have powers. XD
Di immediately assumes that she's a demon or something similar, because she's not exactly sure what she is. When Ben gets back home, she was previously trying to have Socrates kill her, so she wouldn't harm anyone, but she runs behind Ben and he stops the Weredog from finishing her off. Di and Ben get into an argument to which Ben expresses that Di is possibly lying about her, because she hasn't been the warmest to her since she's been there. She gets offended asking as to WHY would she lie to him when she's never done it before and it's quite obvious that Ben is in denial and doesn't want to be anything's wrong with his new little buddy. Sonja herself is worries about going back to the shelter, possibly never to get out of there again (yes, she has super strength and can escape, but she was in there for a reason) and butters up to Ben. He excuses everything she did and Di gets furious at him for spoiling her just because she's a cat to which Ben gets upset and worried Di'll make him take her back and begs for her to stay, scared that she'll never find another home that'll love her. Di offers to find him another cat that isn't "as bad as her" and he sarcastically retorts that she can't go in a shelter without all of the animals going nuts (animals can sense auras and it drives them crazy, so they become fearful/aggressive). Him saying them triggered something in Di and made her think about something: Ben remarks earlier that week that Sonja was the only calm cat in the shelter, while the other cats were fearful and aggressive, the shelter workers also wanted her out of there immediately, and the most important thing: TWO SUPERNATURAL CREATURES ARE IN THE HOUSE WITH HER FOR A WEEK AND SHE'S BEEN COMPLETELY CALM THE WHOLE TIME. A normal animal wouldn't want to step FOOT (or paw) in the house because of the two very strong auras coming from it. Di internally chastises herself for not noticing that earlier and then goes for an alternate route with the reveal, talking to Sonja herself. She gets in her face and asks one. simple. question: "You're not afraid of me, are you, Sonja?" Ben gets what she means, but is still in denial and suggests that she... just... might not sense their auras? And, Di gets frustrated because it's extremely obvious at this point and she grabs her and is seconds from killing her until Sonja yells out to Ben to tell Di not to kill her. Ben is in shock over her doing this and Di smugly and happily cries out that she was right. Sonja runs over and snuggles with Ben, upset and scared of what he's going to do with her now (she's quite aware of his hunter status), because she was acting normal both for him and another reason (he said earlier in the week that he was glad that had at least one normal animal in their family, because of his frustration with Socrates "bullying" her).
They get a bit of conversation out before Di calls her a demon again, causing Sonja to spout that she's NOT A DEMON DAMNIT (STOP IT, YOU SACK OF CRAP(Okay, I didn't say this, because I love Di, but still))! Ben asks what she is then, and she sprouts two raggedy, hole-filled red bat-like wings from her back. Then it occurs to Di as to what she is: a Vampire Cat, a low-level Supernatural Animal. They're mostly harmless and only feed on animals, as human blood is too strong and concentrated for them. Sonja lets them know that she's over thousands of years old and this sparks both Di and Ben's attention, as she could tell them things about the past. She also lets them know she hasn't seen anyone of her kind in decades or possibly longer, she has a bit of a bad memory.
More happens with her character and if you're honestly curious, there's the first draft of the episode she appears in on the Bloodlove Wiki! I'm working on the second draft, which may or may not be the final one. I'm also working on the episode where we dive into her past. It's going to be angsty...
[SPOILERS OVER]
She's basically a feral me with bat wings and vampire fangs who drinks animal blood, because human blood is too strong and too concentrated and full of cholesterol and sodium and is Bloodlove Ben's pet-- err, friend. I wonder if that will have... uh... connotations later... She's also able to survive under sunlight. I wonder how myself... again, bad memory.
I wish I didn't forget the stripes on her leg, but it'll probably make her easier to animate, so never mind. XD
Also, she was supposed to have more age-related damage on her, but I didn't want her to look like an 11-year-old's Warriors/World of Warcraft hybrid OC on deviantART.
So, maybe it's under her fur. Who knows?
(Whoops-a-Daisy! Long Description Again! *troll shrug*)
