A really quick drawing to mess around with background, I also wanted to finish a drawing of these two even if it wasn't going to be super refined. These are my characters, Heinrich "Doc" (last name undecided) and Martin Lockheed. I played Martin in a very short Call of Cthulu game and will play Doc in the same one if we play again. Martin (the Native American man) is a mob hitman. He has guns and a motorcycle but otherwise has almost no money, I'll draw his clothes more filthy when I draw him again. Doc, as the name implies, is a doctor. He was born in Berlin, but his family managed to get him out of the country to live with an American-born relative. He hides his ethnicity and generally prefers to go by "Doc." He only tells his real name to his most trusted friends, and he doesn't trust easily, so that's just Martin right now.
In personality, Martin is aggressive, confident, and quiet. He loves weapons and explosives and will pretty much shoot or blow up anything he can. He has a field gun, and looks for any excuse to fire it. In terms of Eldritch horrors, he's had enough bad trips that he doesn't know what to believe and doesn't really care as long as it can be killed one way or another. He has no interest in learning more about most things, no interest in politics, and very little interest in most people around him except Doc. He respects soldiers and anyone with combat skills, but he also admires intelligence and study, although he doesn't feel like that's the sort of thing he has any business working with. He's perfectly happy as a hitman. (Yes, his belief that being a hitman is his lot in life and he can't do any better is partly cynicism and partly due to the era's opinion of Native Americans.)
Doc, on the other hand, is naturally curious and loves learning even when it might be dangerous. He's incredibly intelligent and educated, but also shy and socially awkward. He's extremely distrusting, but generally an optimist. He feels that Martin will eventually live a better quality of life and he tries to get his boyfriend interested in academic pursuits, something which Martin half-heartedly goes along with to appease Doc. Doc is very emotional, although he hides that given the time period, but he still gets very excited about knowledge and the unknown and very discouraged when things seem hopeless.
I was going to caption this something like "Is that a gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"
Also, their height difference is more pronounced than this image implies. And something went very wrong with the proportions of Doc's face. On the other hand, Martin's skin is just gorgeous.
