Now for something completely different!
This juvenile veiled chameleon (naturally deceased) has been carefully mummified in borax and salt, enameled in black and accented with gunmetal silver to bring out the finer details. I inserted glass glass beads into the eye sockets and topped them with tiny white Swarovski crystals. With good care this well preserved specimen will last for decades!
I posed the little fella on a silver plated chain so he appears to be climbing it; his feet grip the chain with some help from a strong, clear drying epoxy that is invisible to the eye. His tail curls around the chain for added cuteness.
The chameleon measures 3 inches long and the chain itself is 18 inches. I chose a short chain for the sake of the chameleon's protection - the preserved lizard is delicate (yet tougher than he looks!) and must be handled gently by his new owner.
