You don't even know how much I love Nadine and Nia now. Nadine (hyena) works as a forensic pathologist and Nia (rabbit cat) runs a hit man business but owns a confectionery where she makes candy to avoid any suspicion (how could a cute wittle bunny who makes candy pose any threat?) Given her morbidly sketchy, messy, and incredibly illegal activities, Nia sought out Nadine to help her hide evidence and get rid of bodies. Since alkaline hydrolysis (liquid cremation) is used at the facility where Nadine works, Nadine would make a very convenient ally. So Nia is talking to Nadine and is all, "Hey you work with dead people, I make people dead, we can work together, I'll pay you money and I won't kill you." Nadine is pretty nihilistic and is sorta passively suicidal so she doesn't seek out her end but she doesn't really care if she dies so Nia can't threaten her into going along with it, but Nadine does accept the monetary bribe. So it starts as a strictly employer/employee sort of relationship. One night Nadine catches Nia torturing a kidnapper but she is overpowered and injured. Nadine kills the attacker, further condemning herself as an accomplice. Nadine takes Nia to her house and cares for her until she is back on her feet. During that time, feelings that had been an undercurrent before, turned into full blown affections. They aren't TECHNICALLY a couple, but they are pretty exclusive to eachother. I love my gross murder queens ok?!
