Rook frowned intently. Throwing a ball against the wall in utter boredom. "Catch, throw, catch, throw" he muttered in between mindless noises he made just to fill the silence. "Miss." He afford, after a particular throw sent the ball bouncing past his reach. Rook arched his neck off the edge of the bed to look for bis missing plaything. But as he did, Rook saw, and heard, a pebble pink off his window. Blinking and twitching his ears with curiosity, he watched until another pebble hit its mark; Rook stood up to investigate, opening his window, only to be lightly tapped in the nose by a third pebble. It didn't particularly hurt, but it jolted the bunwolf from his dazed state. "Ow.." Be whimpered, grabbing his twitching muzzle comfortingly.
"Oh god! I'm so sorry! I didn't m-" a very familiar voice started; only for Rook to interrupt.
"Daniel?" The bunwolf scanned through the yard below, till he spotted the blue and white wolf.
"I didn't mean to hit yo-"
Rook interrupted him again, this time with a laugh, but he quickly stifled it, before responding in a mix of a whisper and a yell. "What are you doing here? You know im grounded!" Loud enough to carry his voice, but trying not to wake his parents.
"I.. Wanted to show you something. I couldn't wait any longer... Ahem." Daniel coughed nervously, before retrieving a chair and a guitar from the nearby bushes.
"Oh?" Rook rested his arm on the windowsill to prop up his head. A curious smile across his face. But it only took a few strums of the old guitar for the Elvis fan to recognize an all too familiar song, all too late.
"Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay
Would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you"
The wolfs voice quivered just slightly as he imitated the low baritone, surprisingly close.
"Oh god Daniel please!" Rooks face turned a hot red, as he pulled his ears down to hide behind them shyly.
"Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you"
The wolf finally looked up from his guitar, with a smile towards his crush in the window above. His own face a bright red too.
Rook squealed softly, squirming and blushing, not a clue what to say this time. Instead, just getting a strange idea. Stepping back from the window into his room.
"Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you
For I can't help falling in love with you"
Daniel gulped as he finished the song. Looking up again to not see the bunwolf this time. A sharp pain of nerves ran through him, with worry he'd gone too far. "Rook?" He asked. Finally greeted by a bedsheet rope thrown out the window. "Rook! What are you doing? You hate heights" he gasped out.
Undeterred, Rook shakily climbed onto the rope and down to the yard below. Body shaking slightly in a mixture of embarrassment and facing his fear of height's. Immediately after touching the ground, he felt Daniel grab him. Wrapping around in a tight embrace.
"Rook! What are you doing?!" He asked, probably just as scared as Rook.
A shy gulp, and a hot red hue across his cheeks. Rook pressed his lips to Daniel's. Causing them both to melt against each other in requited love. "..I.. wanted to say yes.."
Daniel's grip tightened as he returned the loving kiss. Body shaking to the point of nearly passing out "i.. Was so afraid you'd.. Have said no..I.. I.."
Rook weaseled his arms out of the hug, to hold Daniel back. Smiling, still blushing. "As if.. I could say no to you.."
The two softly nuzzled and kissed eachother till they'd lost track of time. Not a care in the world besides that they were with eachother.
Finally, after bird chirping broke romantic the silence, Daniel finally let go. "I don't, want you to get caught. Ill be back tomorrow night.. Hun?.." He whispered. Still getting used to the new things to call his once best friend.
Rook nodded a bit. Begrudgingly pulling away, after one more, firm kiss. "Ill be waiting~"
Splitting, Daniel collected his stuff, and Rook started towards the rope, but nervously stepped away from it. Not particularly interested in facing his fear twice. Instead, cautiously and quietly, stepping in the front door.. Greeted by Brinley's familiar frame.
"Hes a cute boy. You should keep this one." She smiled down at her paralyzed son, who was now fully aware he was caught in his sneak out.
