also I know nothing of Mighty No. 9 other than that it came out and it was made by the megaman guys because capcom wouldnt let them make a new megaman. why is it so bad?

Man, that's only one part of it. It's such a beautiful disaster.

Aside from the cringy trailers, it's made by someone who can't manage money at all, delayed for years without much updates on what happened, some sneaky decisions by the creator causing more drama, more delays, and when it finally comes out it's a buggy mess with mediocre level design and outdated graphics that look like they belong on the PS2 or GameCube as it was being developed for 8+ different hardwares at once (The 3DS and Vita having no release date in sight).

It's mostly the drama surrounding it that makes it so bad, but the game itself is just mediocre in its own right. It's been a beautiful trainwreck and I've enjoyed every step of the way.

a lot of older games have a really hard time making the transfer to next gen and megaman has been behind for a really long time
