I just wanted to show that I am working on stuff. QUITE a bit of things. I am working on more than one thing, and I have had to push back things over and over again for a very long time.
I am showing some of those things now.
1 -- A mesh I was working on for SL. I wanted to start again with a business on there, but before that, I invested in a whole sim. It was going to be for testing, but I wanted others to come over and have fun.
No one came over except for wanting stuff, everything fell apart again, it was a failure. Again. Ended on January 13
2 -- A head I was working on for a friend. Started on March 2nd, but didn't even upload it until May 2 because it kept being pushed back by other stuff. At the last minute, the UV map had to be redone.
So, the texture I made for it didn't fit that well. I remapped it, but it didn't come out right on the poles. Technically I still have work on it. I need to redo the texture, make a better mouth and teeth, and rig it.
3 -- A personal project. Started on March 7, but kept pushing it back over and over, and haven't touched it since April 23. A bigger submission I was working on, but it's not done. Only about half done.
4 -- The Seaduck. I originally made this over 2 years ago, and someone asked if I could finish the inside of it. But I have been pushing this back more than anything else on this picture, for nearly 2 years.
It is not fair to the person who's been asking and waiting on this. Most of what I have to do is the console, and then give it a texture. But I want to do everything for it.
5 -- Another plane. Quite some time ago,
Chucky, the creator of the Chucky comic, was looking into getting into 3D modeling, so he wouldn't have to keep drawing his plane over and over.
Decided he would just deal with it, but I offered to make it for them. It didn't even take a week to get to this point, but had to keep pushing it back over and over. I'm so tired of that, and it's so embarrassing.
I started this on October 24, but haven't really touched it since November 12.
6 -- A random basket model. Was just practice, and couldn't even finish that. November 8
7 -- Another personal project. I had wanted to try and create a banner for FA for a couple of years now. I had a few ideas, but I figured I'd try to make a fall themed one during fall last year.
Kept getting delayed with stuff, and fall past me by, so I figured I'd make a winter one. Started this December 9 to make a random house, but decided to use it for the winter theme banner idea.
Yet again, kept getting pushed back over and over, and now it's nearly summer 2016. I haven't touched this since March 30.
8 -- Something I made for someone I used to know. Technically not finished because it was made for their SL character, but for some reason their character broke this outfit. Works on every other person.
That, and there were a few tweaks I had to make. This shouldn't have taken so long, being I started on September 24. But I had to wait and wait for a long time. Finally didn't touch it in December 26
9 -- A sliding door cabinet I made for a game. Failed I guess. February 20
10 -- Another personal piece. A sword I designed for myself, though not exactly as I envisioned. There was more work done to it, but I haven't touched it since December 26
11 -- My attempt to create the great swords of the character Ramlethal from the game Guilty Gear Xrd. Started on December 31, but haven't touched since January 7 because got pushed back.
12 -- A concept of a school I attempted for a game. Sort of a collaboration between me and
Trooper036. Failed I guess. Worked ans streamed on it for 3 days, stopped on January 29.
The center section wasn't yet finished. Came with 3 floors, 2 sections, somewhat enclosed area, etc. The roofing and outer wall details weren't finished yet. Had stairs and elevator on both sides. Bathrooms, etc.
13 -- A plant I made for a game. Failed I guess. Was one of 4 different plants I was to make. This plant happens to be called Massangaena Cane. February 15
14 -- A window I made for a game. Another failure. I wasn't sure which window to make, since there are many designs of windows, blinders, etc., so I made the one next to me, which I figured was fairly common.
Started on February 21, but ended on March 3
15 -- A CFL bulb I made for a game. Failed. There are a few flaws, but I did what I could. January 21
16 -- A WIP (not a final product) of a bull character. Made from scratch, but again, WIP, which is why it looks off. Was conceptualized by
Trooper036, and attempted by me. Another failure. March 10 to March 30
17 -- Another personal project. Something to replace the park area mesh I made for SL. This is a grassy area with streams, a giant rock, a cave, and waterfall. Kept pushing back for other things. March 27
18 -- The current thing I'm working on. Attempting a "tiger man". I've now remade this entire thing about 4 times now trying to get it right. This is what takes up a lot of my time currently.
Though I started it about a month ago, and got quite far in a week, I got quite busy also, and can't keep pushing every single thing back indefinitely.
19 -- Already done, but showing how I made the hose for a previous submission. While everything is colored (using mouse), I modeled this one thing to try and make it look right.
I find it rather disgraceful that I attempt to do all of these things for people, and continuously get the butt end of their... opinions. Now, I'm not trying to make people feel bad about free work.
I've said that before. Getting free work isn't a bad thing. Pretty cool actually if people like you enough for that. It's when you start to abuse the person that's doing it that's the problem.
I've been told that I don't work, that I'm lazy, that my stuff sucks, that all I do all day is play games, or chat and paw off and nothing else. Among other things. Less than a third of the time do I get a thank you.
I am always thinking of things I "need" to make others. While eating, while at work, even when trying to sleep or enjoy myself when I'm out an about. I don't talk to much people at all.
I rarely get comments on anything. I'm hardly on IMs. When I TRIED to talk to people, they avoided me. Hard.
Whether I was simply asking for help (more detail) on their request, or asking for just a few minutes of their time, it was the same.
I really don't understand where all of these implications and rumors come from. As far as pawing, I maybe do it once every 2 or 3 weeks.
What I've shown here isn't all of the things I've worked on in the past few months. It's about a third, if even that. These are just some, not all, of the things I've had to push back many times to finish things.
Instead of the person who's been waiting forever getting their stuff, I stop everything for certain people. I don't ask for ANYTHING in return except maybe a few minutes of their time and credit, and can't even get it.
I'm well aware I'm not the best modeler on here. I can see some of the flaws from here, and while I am usually faster than some, I can take quite some time. I often get distracted and fall into big ruts.
What many people don't seem to realize is that they are mostly responsible for those feelings. Why would anyone think the horrible way they treat others will make them work better? What were they thinking?
It's not even the fact that some of my stuff gets rejected, or that some less than nice things are said about my work. It's the way I get treated for it. Often times while still being demanded to do more.
Often times, I feel like a microwave dinner. I get thrown in the back so someone can set me and forget me. They come back at a later time expecting grand results when they walked away to let me burn.
Sometimes looking for something, anything to hold over my head, treating me unfairly and giving me unfair expectations, yet in the same amount of time couldn't even do a quarter of what I'm doing.
Stop trying to fake care when it's obvious you don't just to get free stuff.
I...don't like ranting. Never really did. Makes me sound angry and angsty when that's not true. Or, I don't want it to be true.
I just want to show that I'm more than just a *thing* that produces stuff. I'm a real person. I don't mind some freebies. Though as you can see, I have quite a bit waiting.
By the way, if I haven't mentioned it already, this isn't everything. As far as stuff I've made in this time frame, this is barely third. As far as things I've pushed back, this is about half.
I also don't seem to get a lot of chance to really go all out on some pieces, so you only see what I was told to do or forced to do, as opposed to what I really wanted to do.
I am showing some of those things now.
1 -- A mesh I was working on for SL. I wanted to start again with a business on there, but before that, I invested in a whole sim. It was going to be for testing, but I wanted others to come over and have fun.

You can talk about the game in production and who made what, its not like there's an NDA or anything.
Let me start off by saying, I am probably the one who has seen most of your recent work and I will address some things.
I have worked with industry professionals and game developers in a studio, so I do have a lot of experience in this.
Your work is improving since last year and I can see changes you have made to improve on it.
The edge flow, technicalities and scale / measurement are probably your biggest problems when I look at your art because it doesn't seem... up to scale.
The objects, decals, environments and other areas of still-life media is phenomenal and well thought out, one of your best areas.
I often think you rival me in that area because I prefer the more... lively side of things like characters and animation.
You are obviously facing challenges with characters, and I can see the issues just by looking at the polygon shading, because you are new to characters.
Naughty Tails has a set standard that is acceptable and you don't need to follow it exactly, that can be done by other artists, which is why I think you are facing these issues.
I've been in the industry, as I mentioned earlier, and artists often complain their skill-set is not good enough for the accepted standard when applying as an artist.
I'm also not the best modeler, you should check out cgsociety, The Gnomon Workshop, Eat3D and sketchfab.com for good stuff and inspiration... it challenges you every-time you look at the work of others.
I believe you should challenge yourself more often, you seem to default to the same thing all the time and learn how to re-do it instead of approach your work in an alternative way.
In my case, it took me over a year and a half just to get the Young Janet model and sculpt where it is... just look at the history.
A challenge I have for you is to spend a lot of time thinking about your subject instead of going head-first into making it, a lot of beginner 3D artists are pressured for time and often approach their work flawed and get flawed results.
I typically spend over a month to 3 or 4 months doing research, topology research, personalities, species consideration, anatomy of the subject, human / animal hybrid percentage, etc. before I even touch my modeling software.
Practice taking your favorite pictures and attempt to do what I call 'topology tracing' to better understand your subject.
Before I started working on Nesa, I spent a lot of time thinking about her topology, creating topology lines on pictures in Krita and so on.
I practiced tracing topology lines on so many characters it took me less time to do it because I had become better at it and Nesa became a reality from so much practice.
Anatomy is a huge thing in modeling characters and I often think you haven't taken the time to research it.
I have spent countless hours studying anatomy, understanding limbs, locomotion, watching videos of nudists walking on the beach, understanding motion, dynamics, etc.
Its called life studies and is very important in creating believable characters.
One bit of parting advice I can give you is, don't expect people to comment or tell you anything.
We all expect people to say nice things about our art, but just like how you don't have time to go back and work on models that aren't finished, not everyone has the time or are too lazy to give you a comment.
Any accomplished artist understands good art encourages good feedback, shitty art encourages no feedback or feedback so bad you don't want it publicly displayed.
It's stood the test of time yet few people get the point.
Keep improving, you are doing good and although noone says anything, be honest with yourself because you need to tell yourself you are doing good.
Also, on the personal side of things, people are very keen on knowing what you are doing... its not rocket science after all.
You have an email, Furaffinity and other places you go to, the internet tracks you and its easy to see what people are doing, so you have yourself to blame for that.
There are scumbag trolls, idiots, morons, etc. and the list goes on.
What most people don't realize is, there is a truth to all of it, because people are most honest about your work online than in real life because you aren't directly facing them with the same situation you have online.
Just like how its obvious your work has improved over a year, its not like people do not pay attention, you are publicly posting your work and people can say anything but few choose to.
If you want people to say good stuff about your work, stop looking forward to comments and pay attention to favorites, that is a hidden comment which translates to 'I like this.'
You are saying the same thing to the work of other people by favoring, so they favorite back when they know about you.
On Pixiv, a Japanese version of DeviantArt, it is expected to favorite work and rate work based on a scale of 1-10 and it creates more honesty.
Journals are almost non-existant and the artists pay more attention to art than bitching online about why their art sucks to begin with.
Few take advice or listen to other artists because of their ego, its the artist who hones their receptive and observant behavior for the better, or you become the non-artist.
You also tend to address how people use you, I think a better way of looking at this, and I have seen this type of behavior, is that you are taking on too much work and burning yourself out before you can start.
If work is paid, you are expected to do it but if you are doing it for free, there's no contractual obligation to do it.
Get things finished or you will never finish it.
Improve your abilities and you will speed up your work.

I think you guys are missing the point I am trying to make.
In fact, you guys have been missing almost all of the points I have been trying to make for a long time now.
It's fine though, don't worry about it. Forget about it all. Just chalk it up to rambling.
This isn't a passive-aggressive shot at you or anything. I don't do that kind of thing, or try hard not to. Sorry if it seems that way.
Most of who and what I'm referring to don't have anything to do with you or NT. I don't think they even come around anymore.
Thanks for the advice.
Also, will try to have a few screen shots later tonight if I can. Have been trying to get the face right.

The point was about you because you posted your progress work.
It doesn't matter to me how you take it but what you do with it because I am not going to change you, hopefully you will.
I don't take things personally and what I posted was my musings about your recent work, given I am the one who has mostly seen it.
Take it or leave it, the choice is up to you.

houses are fun. you make heads and faces way better then i do.
people focus on what's interesting to them.
most of the work that people do that isn't art or science or engineering or agriculture or infrastructure is make work
that often makes more harm then good.
if there's a kind of work that's bullshit, its business. that and sports.
art is the work of inspiring people to analyze their world and think about what they see, and how what they do is a part of making it how it is.
people who think money or ostentation is more important then that, aren't really thinking about what makes what they experience, where it comes from.

'art is the work of inspiring people...'
Depends on your definition of art, you speak in a modern tongue as if art is meant to be analyzed and taken apart.
Science is also an art form itself, so is Engineering... have you bothered to explore the modern era?
Art is too broad a term to define as an analytical hobby or immersion experience.
Business is the reason good and well crafted art exists, look around you and you'll see for yourself.
A good artist knows to hone their skill and it shows over a period of time, a poorly trained artist refuses to learn a skill and understand the meaning of it.

Business is the reason good and well crafted art exists, look around you and you'll see for yourself.
A good artist knows to hone their skill and it shows over a period of time, a poorly trained artist refuses to learn a skill and understand the meaning of it.
This isn't about agreeing, debating or arguing, art is art.
Also, again with the self-contained words such as 'job' which is broad and just as bad as declaring art like I mentioned before.
I suggest getting a thesaurus or booking a dictionary, the way you are explaining things makes NO sense at all.
Also, if business is so bad with art point to evidence of it ruining art itself, as you claim.
Are there scientific or accurate claims that jobs rob the imaginations of people?
Studies show that people excel and improve when given a challenge outside of their comfort zone, something jobs provide and people on this site abuse the opposite regularly.
In your definition, you seem to identify art as all art, so a broad definition by a term of bad business sounds like a bad modern bollywood script.
Where is your evidence to support your claim in all of this or did you just make it up to sound like a protestor?
So you claim a job, with no real clear distinction on what it is exactly, can ruin a portrait or rob someone of their imagination?
Are we somehow going to character portraits being robbed of the imagination now or jobs taking away the ability to think for yourself... you are making absolutely NO sense.
You seem very unintelligible in my opinion and seem to be finding ways to make it seem intelligible.
Don't cherry-pick words just because you want to pick a fight with it, jobs are jobs and are there to stay no matter how hard or long you protest.
There are people I have worked with who are working for professional studios, getting better and making a living off of their imagination with big paychecks, so that just put your theory in the burial ground.
If you are going to protest your views, do your homework, learn grammar, english and at least try to not use so many typos because it makes it look like you have no idea what you are even saying.
I've seen many people here on Furaffinity claim jobs rob the talents of others because their ego is so inflated it could explode at any moment.
Try taking a look around dude, where are all the amazing artists now and what are they doing?
That's your proof.
