Millie has been a long-time friend of Karen, having grown up in the same neighbourhood and with her parents being business partners of Karen's. Millie and Karen would often play together, while their parents had their regular meetings, and pretty much became inseperable over the years. They even had a brief relationship untill an opportinity came up and Millie's parents decided to take the leap to start up and manage a branch of the business in Japan.

While she was upset about parting Millie was also excited about the move since much like Karen she has an adventurous spirit and zest for life, and after some initial hurdles she quickly settled in and fell in love with the culture and people. She still stays in touch regularly with Karen and visits at least once a year with her parents when they go on vacation.
