I really really love your shading detail <3 very nice, way better than I can do with a pencil xD
as for critique, i think the ear is a bit too small... placement on the head is actually right on spot though, kudos to that! also, the skull seems a bit domed/rounded... GSD's have more of a snippy type head, not snippy 'saluki' head, but you can easily tell a shepherd is a shepherd. the domed head you made looks a bit like a setter. and the stop isn't as abrupt as you have it; i fail at drawing them actually, but I believe for GSD's it's more of a... slow, casual curve? aand the muzzle is a bit too thick and long c:

but like i said, really great fur/shading detail <3 keep using references and you'll be epic.

I seem to always round things off like the bridge between the muzzle and the head.. Its a bad habit.. I cant really help it. =/
