Yes, what you said is correct for the treble clef. The Bass clef effectively it is reversed. If you take middle C on the treble clef you will notice it is on the first 'line' under the stave. In the bass clef, middle C is the note on the first line 'above' the stave. Notes then proceed in the usual fashion downwards.

The same notes that are flat in the treble cleff, are also flat in the bass clef. It's just the lines on the bass clef refer to different notes than on the treble clef.

Heh indeedy, if you play just the black notes of the scale on the keyboard you will notice that it is the pentatonic scale - in a sense I was kinda just being lazy :\
