Wherein Hot rod... Fights a lot of things.

For those who are just tuning in, this is a story I wrote when ten years old. As a result, the writing is... bad. Hilariously bad. Let's read!

Hot rod VI
Mission possible (very) From a young age, I had big dreams about making my own video games. And then, a few years after I wrote this, I began making that dream a reality. Kinda gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling, thinking about that.


Knight Xador XTREEEEEME! *heavy metal guitar riff*

The fight with the knight wasn’t exactly the hardest battle there Speaking of difficulty, if they designed this video game for people who aren’t Hot rod, why are they using it as a test of whether the Tails clone is Hot rod? Is it really meant to be so hard that noody else can beat it?. I fought with full force and voila. If you want to hear it in more detail Well, yes, this is a story and it should probably be more substantial than “Once upon a time, the end.”. I scratched him (16 HP.) I apparently didn’t figure that how he knows that HP scores exist in this game or what those figures start at were pertinent information, here. Or, for that matter, whether 16HP is the enemy’s total HP or the damage dealt. he missed me. I hit him twice (8 HP.) I was in super mode (the mode in which you deal double damage. You achieve this by having double the life he does.) Something tells me that dramatic comebacks are rare in this game. He hit me (19 HP.) I hit him (0 HP.) I had 69 No, I was not aware of the “special” meaning of this number at time of writing. points. 31 more and I would get a 1up. Huh. I didn’t remember giving this incarnation of Hot rod psychic powers, but apparently I did.


Bonehead Oy…

This guy was actually a challenge. But hey, I didn’t say he was a good challenge. Once again, you probably want to know how it happened. He had 30 HP instead of 20 HP. He looked serious. I could see it in his eyes. He immediately attacked. He hit me. I gave him something to think about. My fist. I’m pretty sure that would injure one’s fist, actually, even with the fur as padding. Our fists were furious. He swung his sword and missed. I came back with an uppercut. SHORYUKEN! He swung and missed again. I kicked him and tripped him. I punched him twice. He hit me once while I was doing so. It was 16 HP (me) to 18 HP (him.) I was still furious and swung him over my head (which, may I remind you, over my head isn’t very high.) I hit him twice afterwards. He hit me. It was 14 to 9. “You have a pretty thick skull.” I told him. He is taunting a video game. Then again, I did that while playing games when I was younger, so fair enough. He swung and, once again, he missed. I kicked him and punched him at the same time. It was 14 HP to 3 HP. At once we got into so much of a fight that I didn’t even know what just happened How authorially convenient. but I won. I got to 189 points. I got a 1up.

Level 3: the wizard

Sorry, the sparse description in this section does not lend itself very well toward commentary.

So, let me instead go off on a tangeant and elaborate more upon the powers of Hot Rod as they first appeared in my daydreams.

I do not think that Hot Rod ever had the ability to spindash, though he was able to fly. I think he was also immune to fire from the start, as well. If not, he got it pretty early on.

Very early on (and, come to think of it, I believe that Hot rod was created very near the time when I first discovered Pokémon), Hot rod got a device that was simply a box with a big red button on it, which shifted him between his normal form and the form of a Charmander (I had a heavy liking of Charmander early on, though my first favorite was Jigglypuff).

Funnily enough, given how it can be triggered accidentally and/or by others, I think that actually hurt him as much as, if not more than, it helped him. You’d think that’d be why he didn’t have that box for a very long time, but really, I pretty much just forgot about it.

The next power he got, I believe, was psychic powers. He got it, if memory serves, in a duel against Mewtwo. Either that or he used them in a duel against Mewtwo. Mayhaps both. Memory is hazy.

The next power was the bubble power. This somehow correlated to Bubble Bobble. other than that, I have no recollection of how it was obtained.

Finally came the fire breath. This, he gained from an extra-spicy food dish in Dragonland (or whatever the realm was called) in Dragon Tales (the show, not the comic). Yeah. Also, for a reason I cannot recall or understand, the Supersword, Hot Rod got from the Samurai Jack universe.

At the beginning of level three I immediately noticed a blue sword on the wall. It was my sword! My opponent appeared. It was the wizard with 40 HP (and, of course, he was in super mode. He tried to blast me and missed. I immediately went for the sword. He sent a blast towards me but I reversed it. He had just hit himself. I had just eliminated 4 HP of his. He looked like he had just seen a ghost. He made a sword of fire and used it against me. We hit each other at the same time. It was 18 HP to 36 HP and he had super mode again. I hit him before he hit me. It was 12 HP to 34 HP. I hit him twice and he hit me once. His sword disappeared. It was 8 to 30. I did something new. I focused hard on the sword and the sword took over and it hit him very powerfully. It was 8 to 26. He tried to jump on me. I stuck my sword in his path. It was too easy. He fell on the floor. I stabbed him. It was 8 to 22. He mega punched me and I hit him back. It was 2 to 19. We hit each other at the same time. My life immediately refilled. I got 30 bonus points. I got another 1up. ♪ I got my girl; who could ask for anything more? ♫ It was 20 to 17 now. He sent an arrow of fire at me. He missed and I hit him. It was 20 to 15. He sent 5 arrows at me and only 1 hit me. He automatically lost because he ran out of MP. You’d think he’d still have two perfectly-functional fists, at least, but victory via disqualification it is…
