Introducing 'Purity.' This skullpture uses an american opossum skull as the foundation. Hand-sculpted polymer clay was used to create the wicked creature you see here, with minute details just as needle-carved fur, a metallic gray-to-black spiral horn, clear acrylic drool effects, an obscene tongue and handmade blood red roses with dark green leaves.

Glossy black 'shark eyes' lend an unsettling predatory air to the beast....not that the array of bared stained teeth help matters, particularly with those hooked fangs. A forelock and mane of real horsehair completes this 'nightmare' (HAHA) piece, ever so kindly donated by a white arabian named Milk.

This isn't a unicorn from your childhood dreams. But if it's any consolation he does like those virgin maidens as much as the next unicorn....

...just not for the reasons that historical fairytales would have you think.

I think I'm going to add more hair to the mane and lengthen it, maybe even curl it a bit and wire in a few more tiny red roses. Hell, he might even get a little beard. :)
