I've seen people draw angels based around a lot of different flying animals, and I thought it would be a fun challenge to try and draw a dragon-inspired angel. Dragon traits are usually saved for more unscrupulous spirits like demons and unseelie faeries, and it's challenging to draw leathery dragon wings on a humanoid character without it looking sinister. I took inspiration from the Eastern and Mesoamerican depictions of dragons, both of which are often identified as benevolent spirits or even gods!
