You know the archetype. Karnov? Earthquake? Big Ben (the dude from Streets of Rage 2)? There are other examples out there too.
Anyway, I've been trying to turn this into a group, but so far it's just been a place to dump all my fat-guy art so I don't have to post it on my main page. I hope someone takes an interest in this group soon.
Yeah, another drawing with Toasty in it. This version of Toasty is actually the book version, not the cartoon version. The version in the book is about twice the size of the one in the cartoon. Seriously, look at that epic girth of his, and you may notice a few extra nuances. I wanted to show his background as a substitute preschool teacher with an ABC book, a sheet of stickers, some flash cards and some lollipops. The creature that Toasty is protecting is called a "Molesupial," which is sort of a mole/kangaroo hybrid.
I don't know if I'd say Toasty's my favorite of the Team Meteor members. I have a soft spot for Ricky, Fang and Doshin too, and I often switch my thoughts between the four. I even think about Master Tuumba at times too. ...I rarely think of Ashton, though. I heart Purugly, but I don't think I could match what I like about Purugly with a creature that has compound eyes, yet I like the creative idea behind them.
This picture is actually me practicing my comic drawing skills, as my parents and my old boss are INSISTING I turn my book into a graphic novel. No matter how much they like the idea, I personally hate it. They keep trying to convince me it's NOT basically starting over, but it totally is. The amount of work I put into my book, it will take DECADES to finish a graphic novel, even if I cut the book in half. Plus, I don't enjoy drawing enough to draw 64 pages worth of stuff over a long period of time. ...My biggest problem is that I live with my parents who REFUSE to let me move out, REFUSE to let me get a car, and basically REFUSE to let me actually do something with my life. ...Yeah, I'm ranting.
