I was sent to the ER the other day because my lung was collapsing, and now I lay here at the same hospital in the same bed, without much of a busy day at all. Depression tends to take over me when I have not much to do, after having been traumatized from the idea of surgery, and I thought I might draw out how it feels waiting all day in a hospital bed. Prayers for my lung to heal right would be appreciated

I'll be keeping you in my prayers as well. This last October I had to stay at a hospital for five days. I certainly hope you get out sooner than that. Good tip: Sleep a lot and make sure you have something to always keep your mind busy. That's one of the keys in dealing with depression.
You will be in my prayers, and please keep us updated. This drawing really does capture the feeling of a prolonged hospital stay. I had to spend a week in a hospital about a month after my mission. It can be hard and scary and sometimes frustrating, but getting patched up and out of there is a wonderful feeling. Have the doctors figured out why your lung was collapsing? How is the food?
I wish you the best and hope you get well soon.
I had to stay 3 days in the hospital a couple of years ago as the result of a cat bit. One of my mom's cat bit me on both hands when I tried to pick it up. I got a nasty infection of an antibiotic resistant bacteria which required me to be hooked up to an IV with fancy drugs in it. They thought i might lose my hands. The worst part was i couldnt eat or drink anything in case I had to have surgery. Fortunately after a couple days it started to get better and the next day I was able to go home with oral antibiotics. I got through it by reading a lot, having lots of visitors, a blessing, and lots of prayers. Again i wish you the best.

A little over a year ago, I had to have emergency back surgery due to an infection inside my back that had to be purged and cleaned. They had to cut a very large hole into my back and clean everything out. I was unconscious for the surgery of course, and when I woke up I felt fine. Probably because of the medication, but it really didn't hurt much at all.
I had to stay in the hospital for another 6 days after that. It might have been more if I hadn't insisted on being cleared to leave by the doctors.
I don't remember much of those 6 days. There was so little to do and I was bedridden, like you, so I think my brain tried to filter it out. I just watched TV all day and into the night, until I went to sleep, then woke up and repeated everything. By the end of the 6th day I was going stir crazy. It felt like prison, like I was being held against my will. So I believe I understand what you're going through, at least in terms of being made to stay in a hospital bed for days on end.
You probably already know this, but my advice to you is to just try to be patient and wait it out. You won't be in there forever, and when you are released you can go back to life as normal, none the worse for wear. I know that doesn't help you right now, not really anyway, but just hang in there.
