Okay, I'll admit this is pretty rough and not totally accurate... but it will do.
This is the track plan for my HOn30 Roaring Creek Narrow Gauge layout. It is 18 inches wide by 5 feet long with a pair of reversing loops to either end. The line though climbs and crosses over itself twice to gain elevation. Since I don't have a lot of lateral space to detail and scenery I decided to go upwards!
There's a mountain to either end of the layout and a mine at the top of one mountain to provide an industry. A river canyon separates the two mountains and all track is intended to be hand laid. However I may "cheat" and use code 55 N scale flex track inside of the tunnels to hopefully avoid having track troubles and avoid potential derailments. In real live there is less space than I thought there'd be for the town, which is alright. I actually like the closely clustered buildings and such and makes it feel a bit cozy in my opinion.
The curves are very, VERY tight here. Most of them being 8" radius and at the tightest 6" radius, though that's a compound curve as it broadens out to 8" again
I've already bolted the two modules together to form the foundation for the layout and I have a pair of photos with the track plan drawn onto it with a sharpie.

Really my dream layout would need a BIG basement, if not it's own outbuilding. An On30 layout with an O scale two rail interchange (including dual gauge) and also an independent On20 line. So it would be like a layout within a layout! Like model railroading Inception! XD
I would also have a spritzing of On18 for some of the mines so it would be a pretty big multi-gauge empire! I've already acquired some O scale 2 rail locomotives. Both old AHM products. One is a V&T 4-4-0 and the other is an Illinois Central 4-6-0. Both of which I've already started bashing.

cool
Course I wanna build this 1:1 scale

but in Standard Gauge with a way to go Narrow if needed

I've always liked that thing! I think Joe Works made one in brass for HOn30 YEARS ago. I remember seeing it in one of their catalogs.
Minitrains is reproducing a lot of the old Joe Works brass stuff for HOn30. They started with the F&C 0-4-0 and passenger cars. Then the 0-4-4 Forney, and not an 0-6-0T Porter. Which is kind of a chibi-fied version of the D&RG's heavy narrow gauge 0-6-0T switchers. (Something that is HIGH on my wish list) XD
But anyway, yeah. For some reason I've become fixated on the southwestern landscape and modeling it. I suppose it's also because I like the old Spaghetti Westerns which had similar scenery and the kinds of trains that ran through it. Like the Santa Fe, Prescott & Phoenix RR. (Best looking 4-6-0s EVER!!!)
But I think such a multi gauge layout would be unique and it would be cool to see On30 and On20 working together. I do intend on having some dual gauge between them as well.
