Shattered Delusions cover

This is a cover I did for my Dad's novel "Shattered Delusions."
The background is a combo of hand done and photographs (taken in my neighborhood). This piece took me somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 hours, start to finish.
This is my big project I've been working on for a while.

Holy hell! That is truly awesome. The old man to the left is particularly creepy.

This is part of why I experienced a burnout. I ran through all the background elements of this. Originally, it was twice as wide and this was only the right half of the cover. The other half was going to be the back of a wraparound image. I decided it was too much and clipped it. The "back" is now probably going to be worked into the cover for the next novel in the series. The guy in the middle caused some major brain constipation. I couldn't figure out how to make him look like he was supposed to. Once that got sorted out, the rest just flowed.

Thank you, ma'am. It's the biggest, most detailed piece I've ever done.

What's really impressive is, in the final iteration of this I was working at 10x13" 600dpi and my machine didn't start on fire.

Grand work.

Awesome job, man. The level of detail is extraordinary. You know, the guy in the center doesn't seem too much like your ordinary style to me, but I see more of your style in other parts of it, particularity in the obscured figure on the left.

Thank you. I did the rough equivalent of single hair brushes at points in this. The guy in the center was made with a very explicit description from my old man. He is exactly how he had to be. The other guy is based loosely off the looks of my dad when I was a kid and he was a mailman working outside all winter. Oddly, the character he represents in the story is partially based on me. Is the style disparity a bad thing?

Their really isn't a disparity, so no, it's not a bad thing at all. I only noticed because I'm familiar with your other works. Even then, the picture still flows naturally.
